Thank you all for your kind comments. I kept wanting to have more "stuff" to show for my shopping expedition, but kept the YLF mantra in mind (only 10's). Also, my wardrobe is nearly full.

@Manidipa: I love Pashma. The scarves are light enough to scrunch down easily, wide enough to be worn as a wrap and the weave is so loose that it's hard to damage them.

@crazyone: Both cities were in Madhya Pradesh. I'll PM you with the names.

those scarves are really gorgeous! Great finds.

If you don't mind saying, which cities did you visit? I'm curious about the level of cold that you had to deal with.

Love the goodies you brought back, especially the windowpane scarf! I'm sure you'll get lots of use out of it. And the clutch bag is gorgeous...that is a statement piece!

Beautiful finds! I particularly love the springlike colours of scarf #2 and the clutch has an amazing antique vibe about it. Hope you had a wonderful time!

Isn't Pashma utterly gorgeous? I love your pick! So fresh and modern, yet colourful --- aptly, we're getting close to Holi, the festival of colours here, and this reminded me of the coloured powders we sprinkle all over each other. So pretty.

And that clutch is a delicious find too. Is it compartmented inside, like a minaudiere? Because that would be just the pinnacle of perfection!

It sounds like you are getting better and better at packing for these trips! Isn't it crazy that we need wool just for the airplane ride. I'm leaving one hot place and going to another and the only time I'll freeze is in the air. Boo.

I love your purchases. The windowpane scarf is beautiful and unique, and that little clutch purse is like a piece of jewelry! *sigh*

It's a bit late for it to be useful to Parsley, but for future travelers, here's the list of what I packed for India:

3 printed synthetic dresses
Pink cotton dress
Long sleeved silk tunic
Sleeveless colorful cotton tunic
2 t-shirts - dark purple and black
2 pairs of leggings - grey and navy blue
Skinny green moto pants
Denim jacket
Bright green cotton cardigan
Dark purple wool cardigan (plane only)
Red/blue Pashma brand wool/silk scarf (plane only)
Gladiator sandals
Red belt for belting pants
Wide black belt for belting at waist
Gold shoulder purse for everyday
Red patent purse for wedding
Black and gold heeled sandals for wedding
Two Indian outfits for wedding
Jewelry/bangles/bindis for wedding

I wore every item I brought with me at least once *and* I didn't run out of clothing. I was surprised by the cold in the northern cities since I've only been going to India in the summer for the past decade or so.

I was lucky I had thrown in the pants at the last minute. I kept warm by wearing pants/denim jacket/t-shirt or leggings/cardigan/tunic. I could easily have worn jeans, ankle boots and long sleeved sweaters if I had brought them.

The red patent clutch turned out to be functionally perfect. It has two open pockets, one inside and one under the flap, as well as a zippered pocket on the back. This made me much more discerning when purse shopping in India- a lot of the clutches were beautiful but didn't have secure closed pockets.

The gold purse doesn't get a lot of use at home because I prefer a crossbody. It was exactly the right bag to bring to India, where I was doing minimal walking, being driven around and only needed enough space to carry a water bottle, keys, cell phone, wallet and ipod.

Last but not least, the results of my shopping on the last day:

1) Emerald/pink/red/white/black paisley/floral wool/silk scarf
I chose this because emerald is on trend right now.

2) "Window" wool/silk scarf with spring colored squares separated by white gridlines
I'm obsessed with this Indian brand (Pashma) of scarves. This is #3 since I received the first as a gift less than six months ago.

3) Silver caged minaudiere
A substitute for the McQueen clutch I'll never have. It has a pop out handle as well as a chain strap.
