The J-Crew looks more like a fashion trench, especially as you can get the matching skirt. I have two beautiful fashion trenches and rarely wear them. </p> <p>My old (12 year old) black Burberry cropped trench gets thrashed every year from April to October and I live in sunny Australia. It is an essential travel companion whenever I venture anywhere north of the equator. Dollars per wear, that trench is down in the cents because it has been worn so much and given the quality fabric, construction and classic design, I am confident that I will still be wearing it in another 12 years. A good trench is hard to beat in terms of being practical. A trench looks lighter weight and therefore more spring, but a light color in a heavier fabric also works well. The pastel faux fur jacket Angie had in her coats with midi post is another good possibility. I need one that will travel well, help me feel pulled together on the road, and be versatile for weather. I don't want a hood or a sporty look; I have a hooded casual rain jacket that I love ... I'm looking for something with a nice sharp edge.<br />For the last 6 years, I have been wearing a black polyester thin puffer from Laundry. It's been great and such a workhorse, but the polyester is becoming unbearable now that I am perimenopausal and run quite warm. I really have to replace it.<br />I typically wear pants (black, grey, white, denim). Any thoughts on these options? Any other suggestions? </p>
