I used to go dancing a lot during the swing dance craze in the mid-90s (yikes, can't believe it was so long ago!) and these shoes would have been PERFECT. Wish I'd had them then! A lot of swing dancers wore flashy shoes -- a lot of black-and-white wingtip styles -- and I always thought they looked fab. These ones aren't exactly that, but to me they feel retro, and they're showy, and extra-good for dancing because they strap so firmly onto your feet. I was wondering, you know how low-vamp shoes tend to be more flattering than high-vamp? Well, these are higher vamp, but because the straps are ivory and much closer in tone to my chalk-white legs than black straps would be, do you think they sort of mimic a lower-vamp shoe? All of my heels that are higher than 2" have some kind of maryjane strap, because I have such trouble with strapless ones slipping off my feet. I've been lusting after these shoes for over a year, but until now they didn't come in my size. Yay! What a great gift from my honey. I even wrote a review on them already -- I wore them out of the store, went for lunch, left my handbag in the restroom, and had to sprint up Granville street in them, and WOW are they comfortable!
