I am busy looking up all these wonderful suggestions everyone. I always wondered what CoH stood for! I'm glad that mystery is solved. I run across Acronyms all the time in my line of work. Sometimes when I see one I don't know I substitute my own words for each of the letters. This leads to interesting results. Try it with CoH and see what you come up with?

Staysfit, I have the exact SAME problem! Thank you for starting this thread, I will be looking into other's suggestions. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this fit issue.

Here are my two suggestions for this matter:

I had my Talbots jeans (and a couple of others) altered so the waist fits better: even if they are only mid-rise, it made a huge difference to have them nipped: it brought all the material upwards and what I thought were (less flattering) roomy thighs became hips, so the whole jeans is different. The alteration costs around CAN $20. You can see pics in this old post: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....lterations

- Citizens of Humanity Rocket-High rise skinnies (very expensive!). Love them. My CPW has been brought to almost zero as I wear them so often. They are the only ones to go over my navel. I love them even better with a larger soft leather belt and tops tucked or semi-tucked.

Hey there. Delurking to chime in...jeans always pull me in I'm pear-shaped, and I need a higher rise.

Thanks again for the suggestions, I'm going to check the Levi's website. We don't have a Levi's store in our mall. We don't have a Gap anymore either.........it closed.........(this is why I'm an online shopper).

The CoH Caras that I got are about 10.5 in the rise -- it comes to my navel. I know I'm much shorter than you but I have a proportionately high rise. The trouble with these for you is that they would certainly be crops. On me, they are ankle jeans.

I tried the Gap ones that Greyscale likes but they gave me a wedgie. That can happen sometimes with high rise styles.

Then I tried the Rayner crops from J. Crew and those worked beautifully. If you want wide leg crops, that is. Which I did. :)

Hi! I have this problem too. Although NYDJ does usually work for me. I recently found a pair of "super high rise" jeans at the Gap (they were wide leg crops, I don't see them on the website anymore). They were higher than the NYDJ - definitely longer than 10 inches. Maybe those are worth a try.

Laura G, I wish there was a Nordies in my community. The closest is a 4-5 hour drive from here, maybe more. I shop Nordies online, and when I visit my family in Michigan, I go to the Nordstrom in either Ann Arbor or at the Somerset Mall in Troy. The Troy Nordies is larger and has a better selection, especially in the shoe department. It caters to the wealthy suburbs that surround the mall.

Firecracker, I have my eye on those Mother jeans! They look like a great option, and I'm tempted.

I need to check out everyone else's suggestions. I have to head to work now, but I will check back later today. Thanks so much for the great ideas everyone!

I commiserate with this - my rise is about 11" to my navel. The Gap has some advertised as "super high rise" but I don't see a measurement on the site. However, I've had good luck with their high rise jeans because they're cut a bit straighter, which helps fix the muffin top problem for us high-rise folks. If the jeans are designed to cut in for a waist that isn't where your waist is, of course you'll get squeezed out the top a little through no fault of your own!

I did find a magic pair of J Brand Maria high rise skinnies that are high enough _and_ don't squish my tummy yet look super slimming. And I found them for $20 at a thrift store. Serendipity. I'd looked everywhere for a good pair before that.

Staysfit, have you tried asking a Nordstrom SA to find you a brand/pair that fits? Or maybe just asking what causes the muffin top? I don't get muffin top in mid-rise jeans even though I have the raw material, so possibly the cause is something other than a long rise...? Pants fitting is so complicated.

NYDJ -- at least in regular sizes, not talls -- are typically plus-or-minus 10" in the front.

I know vintage jeans styles typically feature a very long rise. I haven't tried any myself, but have seen Freddie's of Pinewood frequently praised by lovers of vintage fashion on the Internet. Their site clearly states front rise lengths (albeit in cm). Vintage may not be the look you are going for, but it may not look quite so retro with your proportions. I know many jeans that people complain are "too high rise" don't look high rise on me at all. http://www.freddiesofpinewood......es/6-jeans

Thistle, Talbots doesn't make a size tall that is small enough for me. I have tried a couple styles of NYDJ but the fit was not quite right. I'm not sure anymore what didn't work with them. I really need to keep notes about items that don't work and why. It would help as much as knowing why something does work. I can take a look at NYDJ again.

I recently sorted through my jeans capsule again. I find that my favorite style of jeans are those with a high rise. Sadly, the fit of high rise jeans remains problematic for me. My front rise measures over 12 inches. The front rise on most of the high rise jeans I have found is at most 9.75-10 inches. I think they look good, certainly better than a lower rise does, but I get muffin top. I don't have much excess around the middle to create muffin top. I think it's caused by not having the correct rise. Do they make an even higher rise high waist jean? Of course, it would also have to have a long enough inseam......... :-)

Would that solve my problem, or would it cause some other problem I haven't considered?
