After having read about steamers several times in this forum, I have become really interested in buying one. I didn't think they were available in my neck of the woods, but to my pleasant surprise, I have found a few. I am considering to buy Phillips GC310. Have any of you tried that one?

I use the Steamfast SF-407 Fabric Steamer, an upright steamer on castors with an extendable rod for hanging your garment. I bought mine from Amazon over 5 years ago and have been very happy with it.

The steamer heats up in a trice, and I can steam up to 45 minutes at a time on one tank of water. Follow the directions and don’t use tapwater or you’ll be cleaning it out all the time. I use distilled water as recommended, and have never had to clean mine. It still works like a charm.

The only quibble I have with this steamer is the hose. It’s a little stiff, and a little short for my liking. Also, the hose is not insulated, so keep it away from your arm as you steam. That sucker gets hot!

Because the steamer works so well at removing wrinkles, the hose is not a dealbreaker for me. If mine bit the dust, I’d buy it again.

I have used handheld steamers in the past, but never found them satisfactory.

I totally recommend the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 model. I've had mine since 2004, and it still works like a dream! It really pumps out steam, is super easy to use and works really fast. I couldn't tell you the last time I ironed...even linen!

They have a travel steamer, which is good for a travel steamer, but I usually just use the iron in the hotel if my clothes are wrinkled enough.

I used to be an affiliate for Jiffy Steamer, but you can get them way cheaper on Amazon.

A couple of years ago after researching "the best steamer" I bought the mini version of the Joy steamer above. I love it--it's the best steamer I've ever owned. I haven't traveled with it--we usually take DH's old steamer, not as good but okay. By the way, he loves the Joy steamer too. If I had a business trip or had to present at an important conference I'd take the Joy steamer. It does seem a little heavier than the old one, but I haven't checked for sure.

Mine is travel size. Fill it with water, plug it in, 2 min later you are ready. If you don't use distilled water you will be mineral deposits inside but nothing on clothing. No one and off, but I always dump and dry after use. It's super easy and gets the job done! I've had it (as per amazon since 2009 with no issues).

I just bought this one based on the recommendation above. I have only used it once but it seemed to perform well on the cotton/poly bedskirt I was too lazy to iron before I put it on thue mattress. Heated up fast, convenient, lightweight.

Be careful in checking price - it ranged from $11-42 depending on color and seller.
