It looks great! Could you wear it with skinny jeans or get some leggings. I don't think it is too short with your legs covered the way you are showing it here.

It looks great on you as you've shown it here. With leggings, perhaps you could wear it for days off. You could add a long cardigan--as long as or longer than the dress, maybe, for warmth. Even if you don't get this one, it gives you something to keep in mind and keep an eye out for, in a length you'd feel comfortable in as a dress.

I actually like it ALOT just the way you are wearing it here, Unfrumped. what is wrong with this look? Of course, I am assuming here that in a climate like yours (which can get brutally cold), finding a pair of warm, fleece lined leggings in black, or even soft woolen ones that are actually pretty warm, cant be that hard. Would it? I mean I can get them here in India.

I have been looking for a tunic like this in plaid for a WHILE now. I have tried several and the fit always seems to be bit off. But this looks excellent on you! The belting looks fantastic! Its the right tunic length as well (I know you are sensitive to that, as you once commented on my FFBO saying you're glad my tunic is an actual tunic length! )

So if you do think of it as a tunic, whats the problem wearing it on skinny fitted pants or even leggings (cropped or ankle length) in summers/fall?

That dress is GORG and I've been looking for something like this for forever with no luck! A
I agree with Diana, it could totally work as a shirt ☺

Why don't you wear it as a real shirt, over pants? I have a similar length plaid tunic (mine is shorter in front and longer in back) and I wear it over skinnies or jeggings. Ponte pants or similar would also work.

Ha! I thought of you today -- I passed Loft and saw that and even thought about trying it on (as a tunic, not a dress) but then came back to my senses. Those things never work for me. I think they're deceptively hard to wear -- they seem so easy! It's just a shirtdress, right? Pull on and go? But they always seem to need tricks of belting and leggings and toppers, to make them work on all of us non-models.

Ah well, onward to the next thing!

I own this dress, and really like the colors in the plaid. But even though I'm 5'1, I bought it in a regular small (rather than a petite small, or regular x-small, which are my regular LOFT sizes) because I wanted the extra length.

Jenn, I knoww! Since AT closed here.

Suz, I have really considered whether to try a fun silhouette, much as you have worked on expanding your at-home options. It still might not work, though. What I would really need is a very warm dress/tunic that, with something like fleecy leggings, would be as warm as fleecy pants and top. But, if it's made of clingy material (like sweater knit) it would be too body-con.

Or toss Janet's furry vest over it!

Aw...you really have a hankering for this dress...

Too bad, but onto the next thing. If it won't work, it won't work. Alas.

It looks great on you, but you're right, buying for an imaginary capsule probably isn't a good idea. :)

I have stopped going into Loft because they get me every time.

I have about got it through my head that LOFT is not good for me, one, and that I'm set for the season regardless (waving to Janet for closet revelations).

Just showing this dress because I think it's fun. It's obviously too short for a dress for me; would be more of a tunic. The fabric is polyester but it feels like a slubby linen weave and not obviously poly.

Even if it were for an at-home capsule or Jaunty Errand Capsule, currently it's my imaginary capsule, because I don't have actual leggings.

They're out of the Tall in this size but from some measurements I made of a smaller Tall I ordered, it only gains a half inch or so, so would not extend it to dress length.

I think the plaid is very fall-inspired and it goes with black, brown, cognac. But, it also makes it look more like a shirt.
.
Anyway, it brought to mind the butt-vest conversations, and I never got to participate, so I thought I'd show it!
