I think the first ones would count as spring transition shoes. They are fairly light colored. How do you feel about heels?

Kate, those boots are breathtaking! They look like taller versions of my Antia bootie that I am loving right now. If they weren't at that difficult neither-here-nor-there height for me (I'm kind of short to pull off a mid-calf boot), I would so be there ordering them at this moment! As it is, I will definitely be taking a peek at them. :)

Claire, I'm not even sure how you figure out your dominant season. Sure, we have long winters here (though this year it's been unseasonably warm--maybe one piddling snowfall this season!), but we also have an actual summer where it gets hot and it's usually warm through at least mid-September.

In a way, winter lets me take a break from the enforced slovenliness of my spring/summer wardrobe...I can't go sailing (which we were doing literally 5-7 days a week at our local boathouse), so don't have to worry about wearing stuff that can get dirty. With my new YLF-ish persona, I would have to figure out how to split some type of warm-weather "nice" look with the outdoorsy mucking-about clothes...the boathouse has a shower and changing rooms of course, but it's a bother to be always changing (unless you capsize of course, haha). [I work from home, so work wardrobe is not an issue.]

Sandals are cute, but they present a lot of comfort issues with me. Espadrilles? They don't seem like they'd go with the type of clothes I'd be wanting to wear. I really have to figure this out. Or stick with slovenly.

I say why not. They are both beautiful shoes. I love the print but think the burgundy born shoe is calling to me a bit more.

I also said no more boots since I bought so many but one pair had a zipper issue and I needed a replacement. They are on their way now.

Cute!

I find summer to be a difficult season generally, especially now that I live in a climate that is not reliably warm. The concept of the "summer scarf" used to baffle me but now I understand the necessity! This year I am going to put more effort into finding decent shoes.

The boots are cute! If you love them, you will be begging to get them on as soon as the weather turns cool again... No help on the spring summer advice but will watch you from afar as I am finishing our summer here still in fitflops which are about to walk off their own accord so YLF kindy for me too!

I know how you feel, Mochi. I swore I wasn't going to purchase anything else for winter, yet I broke down and dipped back into the Fluevog winter sale for these beauties. And yes, I'm VERY happy with them!

I haven't cracked the spring/summer shoe code either - I feel like I only have one pair I'm really happy with right now. I'll be keeping an eye out for your spring shoe shopping adventures.

Wow, I love that first pair! I would like to get the grey version. I can see why you would be tempted by those!! I'm no help with the spring shoe purchases.

Meaning, I think I remember saying I was done buying winter shoes, could not really justify them, and would only be whipping out the credit card for spring purchases. Well, have not pulled the trigger yet, but am mighty tempted by this boot:

http://www.endless.com/Womens-.....B005AE1LHW

I'm not even going to ask you to talk me out of it. I'll probably order them. They will count as my animal print shoe for the time being.

To kind of justify it, I'll let you know that I am getting really good use out of almost all the new shoes I got (apart from three pairs, that are really inappropriate for colder weather--even dry, cold weather).

And it's a good thing this color is not available in my size (ETA the burgundy, not the black):

http://www.footsmart.com/P-Bor.....r:keyword={keyword}&gclid=CJzplOGwq64CFQPe4Aod8nz_QQ

To be honest, I'm also intimidated by the idea of spring shoe purchasing. I feel like I just figured out how to crack the code for fall/winter shoes! What should I buy? This is a rhetorical question and doesn't need answering. I'm thinking a few pair of Converse (maybe one at first, to make sure they're comfy and support my feet well). Some sandals. I could use some skin-tone shoes. I don't know. I don't even know how to dress for spring. I guess it's back to YLF kindergarten to learn how to be fab in warm weather. I'm so used to throwing on a t-shirt and shorts and some fugly but comfortable sneakers. Sigh.
