Sally - I often think of Diane Keaton as a fashion inspiration for my own style, although I know I haven't come anywhere near nailing that style. You have such great long legs (which I don't), so I would imagine those Annie Hall kind of floppy trousers would look amazing on you!

When I look at your pictures, I see a very modern, hip woman. To me, you're absolutely going in the right direction. If you're bored, you're probably not having much fun with fashion right now. Maybe take a step back, look at some magazines, search the net for inspiration? Sometimes just going to the mall and trying on different styles you don't ordinarily wear can be fun - no shopping allowed, just playing dress up!

And maybe try to put together one outfit that you love, and take note of all the elements and why it works for you. Then maybe build out from there?

By the way, I'm talking as if I have the answer -- and I certainly don't! I'm struggling with the same stuff too, if that makes you feel any better!

I'm cheering you on, as a fellow Diane Keaton fan!

Thanks guys for your boost and suggestion. I bought a waist coat today so that should spice up the outfits.
@Jenava I have been looking for pictures and will scan and post some of the kind of outfits I like.
@AG - Thanks. yeah I suppose I have been dressing that way but up until now it has been quite unintentional. I'd like it to be more deliberate androgonous dressing and more polished.
@Laura.B am on the look out for more blogs of people who dress in a way I inspire to. I have seen some celebrities who pull off a clean cut masculine look....Diane Keaton and Lauren Hutton (well neither are very frilly)
@ Tara..yeah maybe its just life getting in the way. Hopefully I"ll get my mojo back soon too.

Boy, do I know how you feel!
I was on here constantly a few months ago and have since been lurking at the edges.
I have been feeling good in what I wear but like you have been sensing a shift lately.
I just haven't been bothered to post in general or talk about fashion too much.
I gtuess life has just got in the way for me too recently with boyfriend moving away, starting a new job and generally everything changing and shifting in such big ways.

I am getting my mojo back now though and enjoying a new move towards a more polished look.

I'm so sorry to hear you've been feeling sick lately :(
If it helps, I'm definitely a person that learns from examples, so I turn to sites like weardrobe.com (but mostly YLF) where I browse through pictures for inspiration. Most of the people there have their own blogs also so if I find a look I like, I can see exactly how they pull it off!
Maybe posting (or at least photographing) some outfits will yield some helpful suggestions too

Sally, I think this look would suit you really well and I have seen you pull it off here. The last WIW you posted seemed to be along these lines. I feel your growing pains and hope you will struggle through them here as publicly as I do, so we can all pitch in and help you. ::)

When I get a bee in my bonnet about a certain direction I do two things:
1. I scour the internet and magazines and shops for outfit inspiration to determine what individual pieces I need to add to create the style
2. I add at least one piece that is very dramatically pointed in the direction I want to go. This lets me play with it without going too overboard.

Like, maybe just add a sharp-shouldered jacket to wear like you're current wearing your blazers? Or a menswear inspired oxford? Or a fedora?

I have been so bored with clothing style etc lately..so even tho I"ve been watching the forum have not felt like posting..Im trying to spur myself again as I was so enthused before. I think its a lot of factors ...I've been sick a lot lately with minor illnesses...infections and coughs, moving house again so everything is being packed up again and my clothes budget has been cut significantly as Im prioritising what I spend my money on and I"m too busy to go shopping anyway.
I am quite happy with what I wear ( I mean I think I look reasonably turned out each day) in comparison to how I was a year ago. I want my style direction to change and I find myself wanting much more clean lined looks and a far more tailored androgynous look. I am wearing button downs and blazers with my jeans but feel Id like to take that extra step and have a more tailored masculine (yet feminine ) look....kind of like a modern Annie Hall. I am wondering how to do it without looking butch or weird.
