I'm bumping this up for some more input. I just bought some "boyfriend" chino pants. They are tapered at the bottom and hit at the ankle. Angie - how high should the heel be? I am willing to wear a small heel (2 inches at most) but don't want to go much higher because of my fussy feet. Is this enough of a heel for this style pant?

Khris, I am right there with you on looking for non denim pants. I LOVE the look of the ankle length skinnies out right now. I wish there was a way to make them work, but I'm not sure I can. Maybe wearing them like these, would work? I think that's what Angie is talking about. Tapered, low-contrast between leg and shoes, high heels. I'm thinking nude, platform sandals with the lighter colored pants.

These arent cropped pants but they would be good with sandals and clogs. They are the "Perfect Khakis" from Old Navy. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/.....=595183032 Lots of colors and on sale this week too! I think they also have a crop version.

I have walk shorts, but it's not warm enough for them yet (not for me, anyway).

If I were to wear them with heeled sandals or clogs (both of which I am looking to add to my shoe wardrobe)- what style of pants would you suggest? I don't want short crops because them I will get too cold (yes really- I am that sensitive).

Have you tried walk shorts? I think you'd rock that clean slightly androgynous look.

I am hard to please when it comes to ankle length and leg shortening cropped pants. It can totally be done if the leg widths are tapered and worn with heels - but I know that's NOT how you want to wear them. However, wear those cropped pants shorter and we're in business.

Other than jeans, I haven't bought a pair of fitted, non-stretchy pants in over a year. They are difficult to fit, so I just avoid even looking at them. I'm thinking about a pair for spring, but I have no idea what to look for. I'd like something lightweight and neutral in color that can be worn with flat sandals, but I don't know what that would be. I'd love to add oxfords and clogs to my shoe collection, so if they could be worn with those also, it would be ideal. What are the rules for the newer slightly cropped pants?
Help!
