They're kind of a metallic with a more matte finish, I guess. Even before SYC I was focused on only buying things that were truly perfect for me (in color, fit, style, versatility, and cost per wear), and so I'm returning to that way of shopping. SYC was easy for me when absolutely nothing in the stores was a color that worked for me, but since the colors I love have started returning to the stores I couldn't just watch those items slip away.</p> <p>So now to the new shoes! I had to buy these before they went out of stock at zappos (there are only 2 left in my size!!!): <a href="http://www.zappos.com/product/7745456/color/200" rel="nofollow">http://www.zappos.com/product/7745456/color/200</a><br /> I'll be wearing them to academic conferences and pretty much any other dressy event that comes along. I love the versatility of the bronze color (and how it bookends with my hair), and how the straps keep the shoes securely on my feet since I do a lot of walking. I also love that they're replacing two pairs of sub-par shoes: black pumps that wouldn't stay on my feet and some really uncomfortable brown flats (technically low heels) that always gave me blisters. These are so much more better than the other two combined! </p>
