It’s not a petite size so the arm-holes are cut too low for me. I didn’t notice this was an issue until I saw the pictures. I did get a good night’s sleep so I am a little more rational this morning. </p> <p>Caro – Yeah, I think the top looks better under this jacket. A great jacket covers so many sins ;- )</p> <p>Krishnidoux - The tights are not an exact match to the color of the top but in real life when they are next to each other they are close enough where the difference isn’t as noticeable as it appears in these pictures. So I agree with everyone who has pointed it out ,it is a lighting issue. I like your idea of highlighting the leg by neutralizing the top with gray. I’ll use that idea when I wear this skirt again.</p> <p>Karie – the top is plum and the tights are maroon so yes the tights have more red in them but it seems that the pictures have highlighted that difference. </p> <p>You raise a good point that I want to pose to everyone Even if the tights are dark red and the top is purple does it matter? The skirt is a tweed plaid with both colors in it should the tights match the top or should the merely coordinate with the top? Is this merely a matter of preference and comfort. </p> <p>Sara – I appreciate your insight – I am realizing that pictures can distort sometimes. I am going to try this top again I have to wear something under it that will keep it from sliding out of place because when I put the top on I didn’t see the armhole issue (or else I would have shamefully kept my jacket on for dear life all day!).</p> <p>Dianthus – Very insightful. I have a very high bar for my outfits and I want all of them to be 10’s. But I have to remember that the reason I engage with this forum is to learn. I’d like to be a perfect 10 every time, but I would have repeat outfits I know work in order to do that. That is the antithesis of the creative process. No fun and no experimentation – I am learning that I cannot let fear of a bad outfit prevent me from experimenting with new silhouettes and colors.</p> <p>Angie – I am so glad I have you support, and you are right lighting. It was fine to my eye all day then I saw this digital image at 2 am – not a good time for analysis. I learn more and more about you every day. Angie bossy? They do look a tad bright for the deeper color top and greys but I suspect it is the flash effect. If not, then I would think a deep dark blue would be a great alternative.</p> <p>I'm not sure about the top. The color is gorgeous and I like the cut but the little dip in under the arms followed by the very fitted underbust may be visually adding size to the chest area. Not sure on this one. It is very nice on but perhaps not quite a 10.</p> <p>I set the bar very high for your outfits though. Have you ever gone to a movie that everyone raves about and you are expecting it to be amazing and outstanding? Even if it is one of the best movies you've seen all year, you are sometimes let down because your expectations are so high. If anything, I would switch the purple top. Why not try something picking up the shade of grey from the skirt, with that same jacket? The outfit was comfortable and I felt great wearing it. </p> <p>Looking at the pictures now, I feel like the tights are too bright, and the fit on the top (which I loved this morning) isn't so great. I think the jacket saves it but save could also be hiding the mistakes...</p> <p>I am also thinking that it's the middle of the night and just need to go to bed. What do you think -- do I need to just calm down and go to bed, or rework this outfit and try again? </p>
