Thanks Chris.

Hi Chris,
It is good to know that there is an H&M store. I can't go wrong there if I need something!
I appreciate your input about what to see. The DeYoung is on my list, I will check out the California Hall of Science in the Park, and Union St too.

Thank you for your ideas!

It has been colder this week (mid 40's in the evenings currently) and raining off and on. I think you have a good plan.
If you have room for a tshirt and a light wool I would bring one of each for layering.
There are some great shops in SF so picking up inexpensive items should not be an issue (there is a giant new H&M near Macy's now and the usual Union Square stores).
As for what to do - the newly renovated California Hall of Science in Golden Gate Park and the DeYoung are great.
I like Union St for shops and restaurants.
Hope that helps!

Angie
Do you have any suggestions about the weight of clothing for this trip?

Hi,

I am going to San Francisco , leaving this Sunday and returning in about 2 weeks. So that brings me into the first week of March.
I lived out there in the 80's but would you think I could remember what I wore? NO.
This of course was pre YLF.
I am planning on packing only one suitcase ,so far,-ha!

I was thinking... some cashmere sweaters, long sleeve cotton tops ,a biker jacket, 3/4 length BB trench, skinny jeans ,a pr. Low heel/ tall boots, converse sneakers, plus a few scarf’s and hats for the city?
I am not planning on doing any fancy dining on this trip. I know San Francisco is full of great $$ restaurants, I will be seeking out the small places tucked into the neighborhoods, so dress will not be an issue-smart casual should be fine. Maybe tea at the Fairmont or Ritz, max.
I have no real agenda while in the city for 3 nights, so any suggestions you might have would be appreciated. I will have a car.

I know it is the rainy season.
It can get up to the 60's during the day low 40's at night.
Would a cotton t-neck be better at for this time of year, or light weight wool?

I will also be spending time in the Half Moon Bay area on a ranch in the Mts. which will mean a cabin with a wood stove. Going to Monterrey for a few days to the Aquarium. To Filoli Gardens in Woodside for the daffodil festival and I will be visiting some local growers(work related).

For the ranch I will probably bring another pair of boots, jeans and polartec with other rain gear.
I'm up to two suitcases as I write this. I do not want my BB coat full of mud etc.

This is my favorite way to travel, mix things up a bit. But I still do not pack as efficiently as I would like. It is a challenge for me and I could use your help!

Thanks!
