I passed my written exams! I can now go on to and take my oral exam. Once I pass that, I'll be a PhD candidate. Yay!</p> <p>I'm not sure how it is at other schools, but at mine I have to take both written and oral exams to become a PhD candidate. Until I do that, I'm just a student. I have 5 professors on my committee and they each give me a written exam. Since I've passed that (I had to pass 4 of the 5 to go on), I'm going to take my oral exam. This will be me and all 5 of them in a room grilling me for several hours. I'm scared but excited at the same time. </p>
