A lot of women pity me but I don't really mind. I have long legs anyway, and heels are so bad for your feet. I'm sure even if I could wear heels I would just complain about how much my feet hurt. I prefer shoes that I am completely unaware of. If I have to learn how to walk in a pair of shoes, or avoid doing certain things (taking the stairs or walking on grates) because of what's on my feet, forget it. </p> <p>Definitely get a pair of sandals that can be dressed up or down, or some perforated ballet flats. I find regular ballet flats too restrictive when it gets hot. That sounds so painful. I had a friend who could no longer wear heels because of some kind of bone fusion thing due to a traumatic ankle injury. Well you don't have to get new shoes all at once. I had to get a whole new shoe wardrobe after I had foot surgery last year and I'm still not quite finished. I'm hoping the last order I just placed will signal the end of a shoe-shopping era for me. I just hate buying shoes.</p> <p>For now just get some summer shoes. I think the poster has to replace essentially her whole wardrobe due to weight fluctuations, so she's probably trying to limit her shoe purchases for now. I would need one pair of heels, but it's a toss-up between my nude round-toe pumps, my tuquoise suede sling-backs, and my red patent round toe pumps with ankle straps. What all three have in common is that they aren't boring and predictable. </p> <p>But if you're talking summer, then my list would be different. It would include a pair of white flat sandals and a pair of white sandals with a heel. The third would be a second pair of flat sandals in a metallic. </p> <p>If you're talking fall/winter, then my list would be a pair of brown or black ankle boots, a pair of red ankle boots (wish-list item), and a pair of knee-high boots in wine or some other neutral color. It would be hard to limit to just three though... because I'd probably need a pair of dressy shoes for holiday occasions... and I'd want the boots both with and without heels!!</p> <p>I'd have a very hard time limiting it to just three..... but hopefully, this gives you an idea where to start!! I would say definetly consider metallic or red shoes or shoes in a bright, signature color (fuschia, aqua, yellow... whatever you like).
