What Style Fan said in her first paragraph, more or less. I sprinkle other workouts in with my yoga, but if I go too long without my mental health suffers.

I do yoga regularly. I aim for daily practice. I started yoga when I was a teenager and had been doing some form of yoga since then. Sometimes I took breaks and did other things, but I always go back to yoga.

My husband also does yoga, and right now, we are doing a live stream practice with a studio that we like. We are also putting in a studio in our home.

I did yoga for a couple years. I chose my class mainly because it fit in my schedule. It was called power yoga. Except for me, the class was filled with young, very fit men and women. There were several marathoners. I alternated it with lap swimming. I developed pain in my hip and shoulder, and kept at it awhile longer, but then ultimately quit after I read an article in the NY Times about hip surgeries for middle aged women who did yoga.

https://www.nytimes.com/2013/1.....ticleShare

3 mornings a week, livestream, before sunrise. Yoga for durability - combination of styles, with emphasis on strength. Low impact, but challenging. If I were not also following a training schedule, I would not be able to keep up with this class given my aches, pains, and artificial joints. Myofascial release is a component as well.

Sometimes I do a recorded class later in the day. It's remarkable how much better it feels after I've been moving about for hours. However, the aspect of starting my day before the light with both meditation and movement has become sacred to me.

I haven’t restarted yoga yet but I’m hoping soon. My DH is a huge enthusiast and with his yoga studio closed for the past 8 months he has turned to Downward Dog and loves it. My plan is to start with a beginner program from that application.

Another yoga lover here - I started in the mid-90s when I was in uni, and have practiced to a less or greater degree ever since. Good for mind, body and spirit!

I am a devotee of Yoga and Pilates. My first exposure to yoga was watching and practicing with Lilias on PBS back on the mid 1970s. I think of yoga and Pilates as ways for me to become more grounded physically and emotionally.

I am a huge yoga fan, and have been practicing for 7 years. Nothing is as good as yoga for my body, mind and spirit! I practice 4 to 5 times a week for an hour, early in the morning before the sun goes up.

There are sooooooo many ways you can go with yoga. Sooo many different styles, types of practice, and levels of practice. Hot or room temperature. You can be very aerobic, fast and advanced, or keep it restorative, slow and very quiet. And everything in-between! There is no contest. Just you and your zone. You can also concentrate on a body part - for me it's hips because that's where I hold my stress.

I practice Vinyasa and Hatha with a bit of Yin from time to time.

Yes...Yoga is a very good workout. It poses stretches your muscles and increases your range of motion. By the passage of time body will be flexible.
If you practice regularly then it will help you develop muscle tone and metabolic process.
Yoga is helpful for fatty people to lose their weight also for abdominal fat.
For weight loss and be active, do yoga for at least 1 hr a day.
Yoga helps to improve from the hair of your head to the nails of your feet. I mean to say it helps all parts of your body. Even you have a breath problem, or if you can't walk, if you have pain in your back, in your legs, or headache anything else, Yoga is best for your health.

**The best time for yoga in the morning time before sunrise.
