Your post brings back memories :o) Shana, you will miss those days. You won't believe how fast they will go! To prevent meltdowns seriously consider keeping snacks low sugar (nuts, raw veggies, cheese) and drinks limited to plain water. I've learned the hard way that juice is like a sugar IV, especially if you are hungry.

Wow, I'm exhausted just reading your post! I sometimes complain about having to go everywhere or run errands with two kids in tow but my neighbor who is an empty nester of three reminds me that I'll miss these days...

unfortunately I sometimes think those kinds of days are fine and string a couple of them together, and then I get sick from exhaustion. (My motivation is greater than my stamina, I guess) ugh. But I get one of those plastic 9x13 inch carry along pans with a lid and fill it with snacks and juice boxes (and don't forget some snacks for you...nuts, etc) and keep it permanently under the passenger seat. (On those busy days I don't successfully think ahead.) Has saved me many fast food breakdowns :)

Oh! And since you were such a good Mom now you get to treat yourself! Don't forget!

AJ, even more so when it's hot outside, because I live near Phoenix! In the summer, I pack a big bottle of ice water on most days.

Tricia, we had those days. I remember leaving many a store with both my kids throwing a fit and me in tears myself! It gets easier in that aspect. Of course, I've given in a lot more than I ever thought I would. I bought DS some Pokemon cards to play with at Walmart before heading over to Kohl's, and he still had a meltdown. ;)

The funny thing is, DH raised his eyebrows because he thought I'd spent a ton of money, but I didn't actually BUY much at all those places. My Converse sneakers were less than $15!

Wow, go you! My kids are at an age where I could never dream of getting all that done in a day with them. They're only good for an errand or two at a time or else I risk a meltdown.

Wowie zowiie! What a day you had yesterday! You get my MOTG medal of the day! Yes, having a cooler of drinks and snacks is vital on days full of errands.

Normally, I'm a homebody, so I think of myself more as a SAHM than a MOTG.

Not so yesterday.

I started out planning to take DS to his dentist appt. at 7:00 am, but at the last minute, DH switched with me, so I drove the carpool while he did the dentist appt. with DS. At that point, since I was 'in town', I hit Target while I waited for Office Max to open. From Office Max, I went to ROSS, then Half Price Books, then a gas station to grab a soda to burn some time before heading back to the school to pick up my kindergartener. Then, it was drive thru to grab him a quick lunch before his dentist appt. at noon.

After the dentist appt., we ran home to let the dog out for a sec, before we hit Wal-mart to get something I needed for a project that Target didn't carry. Then to Kohl's to use my Kohl's cash and 30 percent off coupon because it was the last day it could be used. (Oh, and I bought my first ever pair of Converse!) We then drove to the school to pick up my older son, stopping to get slushes on the way home, because I'm a big softie like that.

Once we got home and the homework was done, I went outside with the boys to ride bikes. They just learned how on Saturday, so I had to help start them up and run after them a little.

Then it was time for Scouts, so I had to drop off my older son, then go back to pick him up, and then take him to Walmart to pick out his snack for his field trip today. (Big sigh on that. DH had promised him he could be there to pick his own out.)

Whew! By the time I got home for the evening, I was ready to just sit and watch television for the rest of the night! And I realized why I need to just have a cooler full of cold drinks and snacks in my car...
