However, I still have a few pairs of 3" (or more) block-heeled, high-shaft booties that I have been saving for the dressy (or funky in the case of those patterned ones) occasions I'm hoping we will have again someday. I should probably take a closer look at those in the fall to see if they have already had their day, since it's now been two years since I've worn them. I do think they span the seasons nicely — they work well but with a different look depending on whether they are worn over socks or tights or with bare legs.</p> <p>Can I confess though that what lured me in there in the first place was these perfectly minimal strappy flat sandals? I had to try them, even after buying the Allsaints ones because this was exactly what I was looking for to replace my old Cole Haans. They are comfortable and adjustable, have an elasticized strap for easy on/off with no buckles or ties, and have some cushioning in the footbed. They suit my narrowish feet nicely. They came home with me. So now I am REALLY set for black sandals!
