I would like to keep its matte finish though, so will look for some matte dye. Does the original color of the bag affect the color you want it to be? I have an update. </p> <p>I was sad that I lost the definition of the ostrich spots in the leather after dyeing. They were still raised, but you just didn't notice them as much. I had some leftover dark navy dye from another project, so today I used an eyeliner brush to dot each one with the darker dye. I think it helps bring back some of the dimension and richness I had lost. This is what you do when you have *way* too much time on your hands.
