She used double sided hair tape to attach them. She actually took the time to explain it all to me: they laminate the ends of the hair between two strips of silicone, then she uses double side hair tape to sandwich my genetic hair between the two sections of extensions. The only order I have been given is to keep oils off the tape strips, so they're fairly low maintenance. Some are strand by strand and can't be re-used, some tape in, and so on. I had to learn briefly about each type to choose what kind would work the best for me. Tape-ins appealed to me because they could be re-used and weren't horrifically expensive. These are my "investment piece", bought for their balance of quality (human hair), price/value, and longevity.</p> <p>JAileen, yes, I can comb my hair and extensions. I can't really put a lot of pressure on the brush/comb, because if I dig too deep then it catches the tape or the genetic hair and pulls/breaks hair. Women with ethnic/textured hair have been getting extensions for as long as people with non-textured hair have. My hair is very slippery, and I would imagine that it can be hard to work with because it just doesn't hold in place for very long. I wish I could afford to change mine that frequently LOL</p> <p>Jessiekams, I became a total wiggleworm after the first 90 minutes, which is when Jade started inviting me to observe the next step as she worked to save my hair from my crimes :-D</p> <p>Jenni, I won't go through that kind of marathon again! I will be checking in with Jade to make sure my color stays the way she put it, because letting her put a purple mask or rinse or toner on it will be quicker and cheaper in the long run. And I'm probably going to buy a second full set of extensions so that she can just take out the old ones and put in the new ones when it's time to reposition these, that way she can clean/tone/dry/re-tape/store the old ones at her leisure. It will be easier for both of us that way.
