The grass is always greener I suppose.</p> <p>I personally would lean into the all black, and wouldn’t try to go too much with bright accessories. Most of the hairdressers I know with an all black requirement who look good keep their silhouettes flattering and and their fits good. Plus you need to be able to move so you wouldn’t want a lot of jewelry or scarves anyway. I'm in the same situation at work. We have a very restrictive all black dress code with a horrid red polyester polo style shirt. I try and express myself with my shoes. I swear, management at our location is going to drive me nuts; they actually had something to say to me about the fact that my pants had no button/zip. After I had been wearing the EXACT pair of pants for a full year. Not a similar pair, not an identical paur; I had literally been wearing the same pair of pants for a year. Would houndstooth or other small print be OK? I have black jeans with tone on tone polka dots from Loft (sorry, last year). I also have two pairs of black pants with side stripes (Calvin Klein and Loft again). I second or third the idea of texture; corduroy or stretch velveteen. Talbot and Loft have been good sources for both. Or a vest over a long sleeve tee. Gives you pockets and a little warmth when you're in the cooler. Loft does nice mixed media tops - knit in the front, woven in the back, which add a little flavor to a monochrome outfit. A little piping adds interest too. Sorry my finds are so old.</p> <p>And if you wear laced shoes, try contrasting laces! Her mother bought her lots of black items at thrift stores. Just an idea. Loose textures might get pulled on rose thorns, but I love the idea of using texture. Since you are working in a flower shop, might dark florals be acceptable? How about sometimes mixing in other dark neutrals like navy or chocolate or charcoal or even pewter for a bit of shine?
