Hands down the mustard but I may be impartial because I have 1 too, it goes so well with taupe/khaki/army green and even most of your outfits in the pics and I always gets lots of compliments when I use it, so if you want lots of attention go for it :)...

and PS: here in the Tdot $75 for a leather bag that size is called a good deal!

I agree about not getting the Liz Claiborne bag. It just doesn't make my heart go pitter patter.

I'm trying to decide if the spot bothers me or not. I like what Alecia said about a blemish being liberating. And the mustard color would definitely be the star of the show. I'm thinking about whether that would be a good thing or not.

The mustard bag will work with every single outfit that you posted, but if the spot bothers you then take it back. Don't settle for something you're not completely satisfied with. I wouldn't get the grey one either - I don't think it's the quality or style that you're hoping for.

If most of the clothes you wear are cool colors, the yellow bag will be high contrast and the star of the show. If you love it, then that could be a very good thing. I do like colored bags but find I wear neutrals more often because I usually don't have the time to change bags when I'm heading to the office.

It is a nice bag.

I personally don't care for the Liz Claiborne bag--it doesn't look up to date to me--but then I am not that much of a bag person. Last year I fell in love with a yellow bag that Kristen showed with a gray sweater and pants. I shopped a lot and finally found a butter yellow bag that I like better than the mustard. I don't wear much yellow, but I do like this bag.

Depending on the exact shade of your coat, the mustard bag could look great with it. I suspect that maybe you should keep looking, but I agree with Carole, it would be great to see some photos with you bag and coat and other clothing.

I like the mustard more and more, aside from the spot. I have a room that color. I never would have picked the color out (MIL picked it... long story) but it works somehow.

Here are some outfits... QM's bent arm rubbed off on me:

I really like the color and shape of your bag. It's too bad about the spot, if it bothers you now, it's probably going to keep bugging you. Although, I suppose any bag would end up with a few marks over time.

Could you post a few pictures in outfits that represent your wardrobe so we can have a better idea of the colors you are working with?

I have had two yellow bags so far and have used them both to death. I can't speak to how it would work with your closet, but I have found mine to be very versatile. As for the spot, I do think this one is noticeable so I would return. But I have bought expensive-ish bags with minor flaws before and found it sort of liberating. That probably sounds odd. But if I got an unblemished bag, I would have felt bad if it got dinged up while I was using it. Using it is inevitably going to cause wear, so I'd avoid using it to keep it pristine. Or I'd obsess about keeping it protected while out and about. That's no way to live. So sometimes I appreciate a tiny flaw.

You make a very good point. The mustard bag is growing on me and I would keep it if everyone thinks it wouldn't clash in a bad way with my closet. My concern at the moment with it is the brown spot on the leather. I wish I had seen that before I bought it.

Brenda, I'm just starting to improve my bag collection, so may not be the best to comment. If it were me, I'd not get either and keep looking. Sooner or later you will find a bag that you really love. Then you will wish that you hadn't spent any money on something that is just ok.
If you need to choose one of these, I like the mustard bag, unless the brown spot is still noticable to you.

I'm deciding between 2 bags. I hemmed and hawed over this a while and I'm still not sure I made the right choice. I mention price because this is the most I've spent on a bag and I want it to be a decent investment.

The mustard yellow bag... The Sak for $75 from TJ Maxx, tags still on:

good: size, leather
not sure: color, 2 straps, small brown spot on it... might be able to see it, it's on the right side kinda near the strap

http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.....atId=73375|82514

Liz Claiborne bag, Earl Gray

good: one strap
not sure: not leather, logo visible

I don't wear yellow. Ever. And my entire wardrobe is full of cool colors. But the mustard yellow might be a good contrasting color for a bag. It's not something I considered until I saw this one. The brown spot concerns me... hate to start with a decent bag that already has a flaw. It's the only one TJ Maxx had so I can't exchange it for a different one.

I had thought I wanted a silver/gray bag, but now that I see it... I wonder if it's too boring. But I do like the basic-ness of it. My style is trying move somewhat towards Euro Chic... not sure which bag, if either, fits with that style.

My other bag of that size range is red. Is mustard yellow too wild for my cool wardrobe? My main coat is dark purple.

So... which one should I choose?
