Christmas Eve was a little bump in the road. Your outfit descriptions sound fine but very often it is in the details and the fit. I've worn less than stellar outfits but try to remind myself- no-one is as critical as me, and what looks sloppy to me often is perfectly fine or pretty to others </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/i-missed-twice-on-christmas-eve#post-1122133 Wed, 25 Dec 2013 18:44:37 +0000 Windchime 1122133@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I'm an organist in a historic downtown church.&nbsp; I played for our children's pageant service last night and then for the candelight service.&nbsp; I didn't feel good about what I wore for the first service so changed clothes before the second one (there's enough time between to go home) but didn't really feel any better about my second attempt.</p> <p>For both services, I wore a (thrifted several years ago) Wheaten &amp; Katz black velvet skirt which&nbsp;falls slightly below my knees.&nbsp; For the children's service, I wore a chunky knit winter white sweater and a double strand of faux pearls with pearl earrings.&nbsp;For the second service, I changed into a dressy black cami with a sparkly black blouse worn over it, which I wore as an unbuttoned topper and accessorized with my antique rhinestone necklace and earrings.&nbsp; For both services, I wore black stockings and my black organ shoes, which don't do much to help anyone's style quotient!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>I think maybe&nbsp;the sweater should have been shorter and/or more form fitting to work with the loose-fitting, longer skirt.&nbsp; On the other hand, I&nbsp;worried that my black cami was too low cut for a church staffer.&nbsp; And maybe the skirt just isn't going to work for me, no matter how I style it.</p> <p>Ironically, I felt better about what I wore earlier in the day to practice, which included the Banana Republic tee Angie recently recommended.&nbsp; </p> <p>I will start posting some photos soon, I promise!&nbsp;&nbsp; But in the meantime, I feel kind of bad that I missed for the biggest services of the year, after having definitely improved my overall style sense during the last several months.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am determined to do better next Christmas Eve!&nbsp; </p> <p></p> <p></p>
