I still like to make a muslin before cutting into the good fabric. Sometimes, alterations don't work out like you think they should, lol.</p> <p>Unlike their other book, Fit for Real People, the authors instruct you to do a lot of fitting as you sew in the pants book. I was just reading a book called Pants For Real People: Fit and Sew For Any Body by Pati Palmer and Marta Alto that you might like. They do pattern fitting before actually sewing the garment and the book is chock full of fixes for all kinds of problems on ladies with all kinds of body shapes. The PPL looks well-done; to me, from the rear, especially, they look a little loose (though that can be a matter of taste as well as comfort preference). I definitely think they will come in good use in a casual setting...maybe not office wear, but they're fun and obviously served as good practice for your next (non-pink) pair!
