They will look up purchases on my credit card too when I've lost the receipt. I think their computer system goes back 90 days or so for receipt lookup. (I never PLAN to wait so long with Rack things, but sometimes they are stashed away and I've forgotten about them. . .) Another reason I love Nordstrom. Be warned though that the Rack will only accept returns up to 30 days for all all merchandise, even Nordstrom purchases. So if you need to use the Nordstrom unlimited timeframe policy, you have to go to a regular Nordstrom. I did ask about returning Nordies to a Rack (at the MOA they are about 500 feet apart and couldn't there be some sort of arrangement to get things between the two. . . ?), but they said 'no'. Still, the one-stop returning at Nordies for any online purchases is very handy. I didn't know that... but given that the Rack a block away from me vs Nordie's that is 10 miles, I've never thought to inquire. We follow the Rack's return policy (30 days w/ receipt) but we can take back the items! Who knew... I have no idea how I never knew this! Is this news to anyone else, or have I been living under a rock all these years?
