After reading some of the YLF blogs about boot fit, I did some measuring of some of the boots I currently own in order to get a better idea of what I need. I have 14.5" calves, and it took me forever to find a boot that worked. It looks quite a firm fabrication? When I wear leans tucked in, I can loosen it a notch. When I wear it with hosiery, I tighten it a notch. I'm looking for something Western-ish, but not cowboy-ish! The problem is my weirdly shaped calves! They are about 14-14.5" at the thickest part, but they narrow significantly to about 13-13.5" just under the knee.
