It's really funny to me that because I knew I had a BIG collection, I immediately assumed it was over 100. That's what I told the closet consultant when he was here the other day. So it's kind of hilarious that I was a little relieved at getting almost the same count you did. I'm pretty sure that when my sister and I cleaned out my mother's closets after her passing, we found well over 100 pairs of shoes. There were well more than 100 pairs of pants. In fact, closer to 200. So I know where my collecting tendencies come from. </p> <p>I continued yesterday with jeans and pants. Eight pairs of trousers, 25 jeans. That's after getting rid of four. I figure there is no point have my closet cluttered with things I didn't wear. I store my shoes at the bottom of my walk in under the hanging items. I kind of hate to put a bunch of the shoes (mostly the boots and booties since we still have another month of warm weather here) back in boxes to store them! But I need to do that for now, until we have the closet redone. Strangely, I am now able to fit all my footwear, including the boxes of boots, in my closet, whereas before I had about 10 pairs of my bulkier tall boots stored in the basement closet. I also found that I had at least 3-4 empty shoe boxes taking up valuable space! </p> <p>I feel a little ridiculous that the task took me as long as it did, but it included some trying on, walking around to assess comfort, etc. </p> <p>One thing I figured out while doing this is that my taste in footwear is starting to shift to a little more refined style, not so RATE or clunky.
