The smashed packages seem to come on days when my regular UPS driver is not driving. I recently had a FedEx delivery guy leave a signature form but he never rang the bell to see if anyone was home. DS was home and watched him leave the form from the upstairs window. He returned the next day though and rang the bell, so the package was delivered. He told me the signature had to be someone over 21 so I guess it was okay. </p> <p>When I rented space in a medical office park and packages were delivered, they went to the main office if we were not present. My office staff had to check with them. When my son was little he’d stick his head under the covers convinced we could not see him (see little naked tush in the air) obviously UPS never got past that stage. USPS does fine on packages. But a few months ago I ordered a case of wine from a winery we had visited, and it required a signature. I actually watched the UPS truck drive by my house without stopping (I knew it was “out for delivery”). When I checked my email that night, it said the driver attempted to deliver it but no one was home—which was a lie. I was starting to worry since we were going away and I knew they made 3 attempts so I called UPS. The person who finally answered had a heavy accent and sounded like she was far away, judging by the call quality. I had no satisfaction from her at all, and the wine was finally delivered, while we were away, without a signature, and left on my front steps. Our UPS guy is generally good, but then again we live rurally where it would be unlikely for anyone else to see our packages, let alone swipe them. However, our UPS guy did once leave packages for me at school instead of at home, except he left them there before a long weekend when I left early, and those packages held items my DH needed for holiday. I was lucky to find someone in the building with keys to the central office (where the packages were left) over the weekend.</p> <p>I am glad that Nordies is doing their part as far as credit goes, but it is still infuriating when the item is sold out.
