What a bummer, Marianna. I hope that if you wear them in smaller stretches of time at first around home that they will prove to be more comfortable. What is specifically hurting your heel? Is there a rough seam? Or are they simply too tight in the heel/pressing against a tender spot?

(This comment coming from the girl who just today managed to tear her heels to shreds by wearing the wrong pair of shoes to pair with a healing blister - ouch!)

Anna, I wore mine for two days straight in NYC (same thing - museum and sightseeing) and my arches were bothering me too by the end of the second day.I had to switch out my shoes on the last day.

The only problem I had with mine was when I was wearing for a long day of museum and city sight seeing in Sydney. I think that was more about the lack of arch support for me.

Marianna, you know I feel for you for any shoe issue! I tried AGL flats in the store and they did not work for me at all but I think my feet are wider than yours.
I had a similar issue with my two-tone RH flats. I wore them to work (I commute on foot for 40 min in the morning) and they were killing me in the end of the day. I took them to the repair shop to stretch and they feel much better after that. You should consider stretching those AGL flats - I really hope they work for you!

It was probably a bad idea to wear them for the first time for 8 hours straight. And it is really hot here right now, so maybe my feet did swell (although I was inside in AC all day). So... I don't know! I'll try to wear them with little foot liners today and see how that goes. I may put in a heel pad too. I've noticed that most of my shoes need a bit of a break-in period as well, to form to the shape of my foot... so we will see. I am not giving up! I really want these shoes to work!

If Im not mistaken, I thought Nordies can stretch shoes themselves...if not, I'd bring them somewhere to have it done- can make all the difference in the world! Good luck.....

Rotten luck :(

I do need to break in all shoes first. I usually go 2 hrs, 4 hrs, 6 hrs and 8 hrs if I think they will make it that far. Sometimes I'm brave and do a 4hr right away. I vote stretch them out a bit too. Perhaps your feet swelled and they got a little tight? It's very hot in AZ at the moment, right?

I have a medium wide foot and did not have a break in period with my AGL's. However, the elastic on my Tory Burch flats rubbed my heel raw. The next time I bought shoes, the salesperson gave me thin foam heel cushions (maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick) to put in the TB flats. The pads raised my heel just high enough that the elastic was not on the bony part of my ankle and I have been able to wear the shoes comfortably ever since. I hope maybe a little pad will help.

Can you stick a moleskin in? I also read somewhere that massaging the part that rubs sometimes helps as well.

Marianna, I'm so sorry the AGLs are hurting your feet! I have a pair of AGL flats; they are really investment shoes for me, even at the sale price. In my case it was worth it, as they really do feel like slippers on my feet and are more comfortable than any other ballet flats I've owned or tried. I did not have any break-in period with them. They are a buttery soft leather, but so far no stretching, and I've been wearing them a lot for a couple of months ~ but that may be because they already fit my feet well? How do they feel on your feet besides where they rub your poor heels?

I finally splurged on them because there was only one pair left in my size in the entire company. And I rationalized that because I am on my feet all day and I need to be comfortable, the cost was worth it. So far my much cheaper flats are more comfortable!

They are leather (a beautiful soft leather) so I think they will stretch... so hopefully it's just a matter of time before they are comfortable for me. I just wish I didn't have to go through this break-in period with such expensive shoes. If they don't become more comfortable I will return them (they are from Nordies, so no problem).

I *really* hope they stretch because they are so pretty on!

Oh no! I have them and have endorsed them multiple times on the forum. I'm so sorry that they gave you problems. They were a huge splurge for me, and I debated quite a while on whether to make the plunge or not. I looked forever to find ballet flats that would stay on my narrow heels and these fit the bill.

Did you get them from Nordstrom's? I wavered because of the cost and my sales associate told me to take them home and wear them (even outside) for a few days. He said I could return them, no questions asked, if they didn't work out. I hope that is the case for you.

And they hurt my feet! Only me. I wore them to work for an 8 hour shift and my heels were rubbed raw... a common problem for me.

I know a couple ladies on the forum own these shoes. Did you have to break them in at all? I'm not giving up yet. I hope the soft leather will stretch to form to my feet. I bought the biggest size they make so there's no room to size up. I'm just extremely disgruntled after reading so many positive reviews and talking to so many people about the comfort of these shoes... only to hobble home after work. It boggles my mind...

Can anyone relate? I paid a lot of money for these shoes and I want them to feel like slippers!
