Glad you had a fab experience Ana and I own the bra style you own. I’ve written several blog entries on bra care in the underwear and clothing care categories if you’d like to take a squizz.

I leave you in the bra Queen’s capable hands.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I definitely want to make my bras last since I'll be investing pretty heavily in them--it's great to know if I take care of them they will last 2 years!

I love Nicole's you guys came up with . You really crack me up :)

I'd hand wash that bra Ana. I certainly plan to do that with mine. They are so expensive that I do not want to take any risks with them

Underwire bras should never be machine washed. The shape of the wire can get distorted. What I do, is wash them in the machine, but by hand. I fill the washing machine with water and a little laundry soap. I drop in a few bras, let them sit for about 15 minutes. I go back and swish them around by hand. I also rub under the arm area to make sure any deoderant residue is removed. Then I turn the water back on, hold the bras under running water and shake off as much water as possible. Then I hang them on a wooden rack and let them air dry.

I think soft cup bras (non underwires) can be washed by machine, on gentle with a lingerie bag.

Chantelle bras will last you -in prime shape- for at least two years, Ana (I have to admit I keep mine longer just cause I'm lazy... but at some point after two years they start looking a little ratty. All depends on how many you have and how often they get washed) I do exactly as you describe: gentle cycle, in a lingerie bag.

*shrug* I wash mine in a lingerie bag on the regular cycle with the rest of my laundry and they have all lasted for ages. I don't know how much of a sin that is, but it hasn't really affected me yet.

Hi All!

I went to Nordstrom today and got a fitting and a Chantelle bra. It's this one in sand:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/28.....6&P=1

The fitting was super easy and fast! I mean, I went in, got fit, and had a bra within 30 minutes. To be fair, I don't really have any chest issues and my needs are pretty simple. Plus, it turns out I was already wearing the right size (which I figured out on my own after Victoria's Secret told me I could be anywhere from a 38 C to a 36 D--turns out I'm a 36C). I'm planning on buying one of these bras a month until I have 4 and can replace all my other mediocre bras.

If you haven't had this done yet and you live near a Nordie's, I definitely recommend it! They're really helpful and knowledgeable, and they can store your information, so I can just go in there and tell them I want another one of whatever bra I bought last time and they can just pull up the info and grab it off the rack.

I have a question though, since this bra is really nice and I want to make it last to 18 months--should I strictly hand wash it, or is it okay to wash it on a short permanent press cycle (the most gentle cycle I have on my machine) in a lingerie bag?

Thank you!
