At this point, as an empty nester who no longer has to work ridiculously long work weeks, I have the time to put in. When I was younger and busier I felt just like you do!</p> <p>I do think Aida is right that having a closet full of good pieces makes it easier. And having a "uniform" of sorts makes it easier still. Some days it is definitely an effort to get dressed decently. But I remember when my kids were younger, I worked on building a wardrobe around a uniform that was comfortable and easy to put together. For me, that was leggings/skinnies + tunics/dresses + boots/flats (+ optional cardi/jacket). And working with a limited color palette helped make sure I didn't have to think too much about matching! Case in point: today, I am lounging around in a long-sleeved knit tee and yoga pants with no makeup because I haven't had to leave the house yet. When I'm sick, and I'm staying at home, I will stay in my pajamas all day. And last weekend I had to quickly dash out to the ATM because I remembered at the last minute I needed cash the next day. I'd already got into pajamas (navy yoga pants and a sweatshirt) and didn't want to get dressed again, so I popped on shoes and a coat and drove to the ATM at the grocery store like that.</p> <p>I can tell you, though, that YLF has been invaluable to me for finding simple, easy-to-wear outfits that look polished and sophisticated enough for work, but take very little effort. I've been going through a very busy, exhausting, stressful period at work recently and when I don't have time to think about what I wear, I pop on a knit dress, tights, and boots or booties. It's easy and in some dresses, I'm *almost* as comfortable as I am in my pajamas!</p> <p>Anyway, please don't give up, and we will be here to encourage and cheer you on as you're exploring your personal style and are building up your wardrobe. I know that I feel better about myself when I can present myself in the best light possible and that often means having a well put together outfit that fits properly and flatters. But I can't seem to juggle doing that for myself with taking care of my kids, working on our home, and working full time. We were all quite sick at the end of this winter and now that it's spring our calendar is filling up with tball, kids' parties, etc. We just had my daughter's baptism last weekend and for the month leading up to it we spent every free moment redoing our kitchen. I find that when everything else is super busy, I fall last on the list. I have literally been living in paint covered yoga pants and old tshirts. For work I roll out of bed exhausted from being up late painting and throw on whatever is clean and that falls in our dress code.</p> <p>Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that I give you all major props for always taking the time to make sure you feel great! :)</p> <p>I hope to be on more as spring moves into summer and I need to build up my wardrobe. </p>
