Black 'Paige'...on sale in January 2011. I wear them almost every day November through April. Have to deal with serious snow and cold up here on the 48th parallel.</p> <p>Before I put them away in the spring, I clean and polish them, and spray a couple times with weatherproofing. They're rugged, but in my biased opinion much more stylistically neutral and versatile than, let's say, a cowboy boot. </p> <p>Suz, the snow reached about 2.5 feet or so, and now it's melting. Oh, I also have salt lines on my boots but they should wipe right off. Really loved them - they come in black and a smoke colour. I might have to put them on my wish list after this endorsement. In five-inch-deep puddles. And these boots are watertight. I suppose that snow or water could get in through the gap at the opening, but nothing is going to permeate the toe portion of this boot. And obviously more stylish!</p> <p>I swear I don't work for Frye, but this is the reason I was willing to spend $350 recently on the Lindsay Plates. (That's not close to the high end of their price point.) These are boots that can handle a beating, and probably survive a nuclear war. So unless I take up hunting, it looks like these are gonna be my go-to boot for mucky weather. </p>
