I am so interested to find out how booties will help me balance out my thin legs and bustiness/hippiness up top.</p> <p>That's the first time I've worn the shoes; they are Aerosoles that I got really cheap at Ross Dress for Less. They do need to stretch a bit, but otherwise I like them.<br />I'm eager to try the sweater with a black midi tube skirt and booties, to give it a casual vibe. I am surprised (happily!) to hear it is from Kohls, as I never see anything I love there, but I am pretty sure that I LOVE this. It's got great lines.<br />I don't think it looks frumpy as you have it styled. A Mary Jane is a classic shoe (I'm pro-Mary Jane!) and I think it's very fun with that swingy skirt. There is something of the dancer look to it all to me; it has a certain ease. So to my eye, not frumpy at all. What a bootie would do is just shift the balance a bit, so that top and bottom are more in sync. The sweater is great.&nbsp;I agree with Marley re: the waist issue. The blogger you modelled this on has sacrificed a waistline too, so I think you just have to accept that aspect of the outfit. The focus for the structure in the outfit is the bare legs and that is working well for you. The other thing you could try is exposing more of your neck by pulling your hair back. Not sure if that would work or not, but I'm thinking slim neck/slim calves might look good.
