That was until I found a pair of ankle zip skinnies the right length for my 5'4" frame at Suzy. They were meant to be cropped for someone of average height, were about $20 off a clearance rack, and made my year denim-wise. First of all, it's none of her business where you buy your clothes. Secondly, she's probably missing out on some fab finds by limiting the stores she shops at. I pity her, really. When shopping, I try to pretend I'm in a foreign country and know nothing about their brands and labels. I shop strictly on the basis of quality and price, and don't mind at all if people know that some of my clothing comes from Kohl's and J.C. Penney. The only thing that limits me is size. Not every store carries my size. Most of the time she is very nice but there are a couple of comments that still make me wince. Once I carried a bright blue faux leather clutch to a family wedding, and she and one of her nieces laughed when I told them it was from a discount place. And my husband wore a new shirt (an actual designer brand from a poncey department store) and she said "where'd you get that, Wal-Mart??" in a rather snide way.</p> <p>But for the most part this sort of thing doesn't bother me.
