I write better than I speak. I generally feel that my verbal communication comes out not like I intend it to... I have a tendency to stumble over my words, probably because I'm shy. I express myself better through writing. I wish it was the other way around!

I always used to read Angie's blog and comments with an English accent even before I knew what she sounded like. Pretty kooky.

Indulge me: What is *my* designated voice? I'm curious.

I'm a poor excuse for an English major. I often commit horrible writing offenses. I do have an excuse - I had a stroke 10 years ago. It was much worse way back then, I've come a long, long way - but I still have brain glitches, and my writing (and memory too) has never been the same.

I am finding Firefox is great because it highlights misspelled words as you go along. Not that that helps when you are apt to confuse "write" with "right." Or when you just ramble on endlessly ... I do that when I'm tired or haven't quite woken up yet. Or forget people's real names. I am sorry, I have trouble with that. Please don't anyone take offense - I can totally blank on names of people I see every week too. I admire how Angie can remember all these little details about everyone. My memory doesn't work that way.

Yes, everyone has a voice in my head too. Khris, I imagine that you sound just like my midwestern relatives, who complain I talk too fast.

That's funny Khris...everyone has an *assigned voice* in my head too. Although I am sure it is nothing close to how you all really sound.:)

It's nice to know that I am not alone! I type the way that I talk, too. I like posts written that way, though. It helps to be able to 'read" your voice. Oh and yes, by the way- most of you do have voices in my head. Does anyone else do that? I know what Angie sounds like from the video clip, but the rest of you get assigned random voices by my brain. Shiny sounds just like my friend Dena.

My favourite line in the Simpsons is 'Me fail English that umpossible' which pretty much sums up my posts. You are not alone Khris, besides the typos make the forum feel human.

I just wanted to add to this (and you have probably all noticed), but I am a serial editer (as opposed to editor). I can hardly get through one post without editing it at least once. I just edited the previous post in this thread due to a grammar mistake.

It's worse on the blog because there is no edit button there, so all my numerous mistakes end up being showcased there for all eternity.

I type really fast, and rarely go back to check.
Maya, I also type (write) like I speak, so it frequently is incorrect grammatically. I remember my mom trying to correct that back when I was in elementary school.
Ah well.

typo away as far as I'm concerned.

I'm often surprised to hear that I'm such a great writer. I usually whiz through posts and type exactly how I would speak, which does not a grammatical sentence make. I often write in fragments and totally disjointed thoughts as they come to my head.

Angie, I can honestly say I have no idea what you're talking about. The only mistake I ever recall you making was spelling "pearl" instead of "purl" when referring to knitted tops. You must not make very many mistakes if only this one clearly stands out in my head.

Anyway, I don't think anyone expects perfect grammar and spelling on a message board. Save it for a dissertation!

Well, I CAN"T spell, so I never notice your typos! Your comments always rock.

My comments are FULL of grammatical errors, clumsy sentence structure and misspelled words. I know that's unprofessional. I am trying to improve that. Hopefully you'll forgive them and understand that I am very thinly spread and time is at a forever shortage.

I have a LOT of typos on the board here. I just wanted to clarify something: I can actually spell pretty well, I just don't type very well. I'm in such a hurry to post that I forget to spellcheck, hence the typos. I know that it bothers some people, so I apologize. (Of course, I will probably continue to do it, though!)
