Hmm, the lining shouldn't do that - at least, mine doesn't. Sounds like the lining might be too long on yours (a flaw in the garment.) Maybe they will have more Mediums in stock since it's a fairly new item, and I'm sure they'd exchange it since it's definitely not something that YOU did to the jacket. For that price (even at a discount) you should really love what you're buying.

Tara, I think this jacket looks awesome on you! As a recovering black-clothing addict myself, I am totally inspired to look for a white/cream colored moto jacket. The color is lovely on you, the shoulder seam is perfect (always a problem area for me so I really tend to notice how this area fits on others) and the darts/vertical seaming in the front gives it a great fitted look.

For anyone who needs one, I have the AT 20% off coupon - I would be happy to mail it to you or give you the online code. Also, I saw a great Tahari white moto jacket at my local Marshalls that is similar to the style of this AT one. It was some kind of nylon/synthetic though and priced at $79.99.

Kari - yes, what I'm concerned about is locking in body temperature. I usually don't wear any kind of polyester or any fabric that doesn't allow some breathing. I tend to start feeling clammy. Geez ... why is this jacket causing me so much debate?!! Maybe it's just out of my comfort zone, LOL. But I feel for the price, I should be head over heels in love. (I did get a discount, but not as much as you got.)

Also - the lining on mine comes down just a tiny little bit on either side in the front. I didn't notice the other jackets on the rack doing this, so I'm wondering if this one is just cut a little off? (This was the only M they had in stock.) It's fine when it's zipped, but when it's not, you can see just the edge of the lining coming down. That also bothers me, for the price.

Tarzy, I haven't had a problem with that - are you talking about irritation from the fabric, or that it locks in your body temperature?

To me, the liner still feels pretty silky against my skin (I've worn it to work a few times) and not clammy. It does keep me warm - on a crisp mid-30's morning (today) I can put on the jacket and lined leather gloves, and don't have to wear a coat over the top, but it's not too warm to wear partially zipped up around the office. Normally I'm always cold.

Shiny:
Hooray! I'm so glad that you tried it and that it worked. I can't wait to see photos of it on you. Your outfits always look so put together and stunning, so I look forward to being inspired.

Happylife:
I happened to be at the store when they had a "spend $150 on full price item, get $50 off" promotion, which I used concurrently with the 20% discount you get when opening a credit card, so I got the jacket for 50% its price. I've been waiting for a big purchase like this before getting my AT card. FYI, they said that the opening-the-credit-card discount can ALWAYS be combined with other promotions/discounts/coupons.

I think the sleeves will probably be fine for you. I have average arms and the sleeves are probably just SLIGHTLY too long for me - but I like them that way since my wrists tend to get cold!

I've definitely decided to keep mine. It seems so well made and the pleather/lining feels very soft, I have TONS of clothes I can wear it with, and it keeps me warm (not a problem given that I live in Seattle and am a chronically cold all the time.) Plus it's rare to find a jacket that fits my chest AND my waist.

Happylife -

Color - I'm a winter too! I think the color works. i think it is cream, not ivory, and not white-white. I don't look good in ivory, and I think this color works on me, so I'd say it's good for a winter.

Discount - I also had a coupon, because I have an AT credit card. You can also get a discount now if you open a new credit card.

Sleeves - I have very short arms, so I'm not sure about this one. I have to have all my jackets tailored, and these sleeves are a bit too long on me, as always. But whether they are longer than usual, I would say maybe no?

I am still undecided about this jacket! I am a little worried about the "not breathing" part. I usually don't do well in fabrics that don't breath. So ... the debate in my head rages on!

1. Hmm, I'm no expert about what works for winters. I can wear this coat but I'm a summer. I have the best luck wearing white coats that have some texture and aren't smooth or matte or highly reflective. For example, AT's white assymetrical zippered trench was TOO white for me and made me look like I was wearing a hospital gown. I have not had a lot of luck with white trenches for this reason.

2. I got a 20% off coupon in the mail.

3. I got the petite so it's hard for me to advise if you wear a regular instead. But, my arms are actually a tad long for my height - and often the sleeves on petite tops can be just a pinch too short on me. I would say the sleeves on this jacket are "just right." I do remember that the Bagatelle black moto jacket they had in the fall, which was only offered in regular, had amazingly LONG sleeves. It was frustrating because they were zippered so could not be altered - and the coat fit me otherwise. <insert sad face>

My only complaint about this coat: I had forgotten that one of the downsides of pleather is that it can make you sweat because it's not breathable! Also it can stick to the backs of restaurant seats... LOL... and make a funny noise when you unstick yourself. But it's so cute, and doesn't really look like pleather, I can live with those two drawbacks. Oh, and the lining feels really nice. I like clothes that feel nice.

I am thinking about this jacket to and have 3 questions:

1. Is the color good on people who are typically "winter" color people? I have pale skin hazel eyes and dark brown hair.

2. How did you get it for a discounted price?

3. Do you think it would work for someone with long arms? Are the sleeves generous in length?

Thank you so much!

I ended up buying this jacket too!!!! I really didn't think I could wear a collarless jacket like this, but when I tried it on it was irresistable, especially because I've been trying on so many darn leather jackets and none of them fit me right. This one fit like a dream. I wore it yesterday - you'll have to wait until the end of the week to see the photo.

Wow, I referred to it as "leather" in my post too, didn't I? Force of habit, I guess. Either way, it's incredibly soft!

Tarzy, I love it on you! That's so funny that we both ended up purchasing the same jacket. The shape when it's zipped works so well, and unzipped it's such a polished way to top off jeans and a cute top.

I laughed when I saw your comment about keeping the white clean because I've been thinking about the same thing - I'm not careless, but when I'm writing with sharpie it inevitably gets on my hands, I've made several wipe-outs on black ice at work, etc...
On Friday when I wore the jacket to work I scrubbed my desk surface clean just to make sure I wouldn't be rubbing the sleeves against anything dirty during the day!

Tarzy, is this the leather one from AT? If so, I was thinking it was like an egg-shell white. I tried it on & almost bought myself. It is luscious!! Definitely a keeper!! Looks good on you & will be fun with pops of color, denim, etc.! I'm still thinking about it myself...

I should add that I bought it because I'm looking for a jacket to wear in place of a denim jacket - something sort of cool and casual, that will work in a warm weather climate, but with a little more sophistication than denim. I didn't want anything too trendy looking. I'm just not sure about the shoulders and the banded collar. And I wonder if I'll be able to keep white clean? I don't have kids to worry about - just me. I'm a bit of a klutz. But I did get a good discount, and I haven't seen much else out there like this jacket.

Hi Tara. I like the cut and fit of the jacket but I'm not sold on the color. It could just be the lighting of the picture...how do you feel about the color on you?

Keep! What a perfect jacket for LA, and for your body type. The contrast of the cream jacket and your darker hair is striking. Love it!!

It's interesting, since I think we have similar body types. Like her, I was also trying to decide if it's a keeper. I usually wear jackets with a v-neck, and a white jacket is definitely new for me. I would usually look for a black jacket, but I think white might be good for my warm climate. I'm still debating it:
