JAileen, I've never done 23 and Me, but my uncle is a genealogy buff who traced that side of the family back to before they came to America.  RunCarla, RainB, and Suntiger, the skirt was a gift, and has been in my closet for quite a while at this point. It only comes out a few times a year, but it's a joy to wear when it does. Sloper, I suspect wearing dusters is one of those cases where it helps to be tall/large. No chance of my getting swamped by them, really. It'll be perfect for chilly outdoor dining or mornings up on the roof.  Or as a topper for AC. rachylou, nemosmom, and slim cat, thank you! There's so much satisfaction in finding something that just feels immediately right. shevia, for sure. I was actually wearing that second outfit when I had that thought.  It seems like a no-brainer, FFBO formula, but I never feel quite myself in it. If I'm doing print, I think I prefer having it in something full-length like a dress or duster. Suz, that's a skirt that doesn't get pulled out all that often, because it's A LOT, but it's super fun to wear occasionally. Synne, would you believe my hair wasn't really curly before pregnancy? When I was in my teens and twenties, it just sort of had a barely-perceptible wave. Sal, we seem to be on the same wavelength with the statement blouses. I think I have three (maybe?) in my closet right now, but they're definitely not part of my everyday formulas. RobinF, I'm not super-big on statement bottoms, either, tbh.  Somehow, my relationship with pattern has become "go big or go home" and I'm gravitating towards long coats and dresses. Fashintern, that's a really valuable insight! ChristeIJ, bring on the drama! This is my inner Leo coming out. UmmLila, I think of my wardrobe as very black-heavy and am always surprised when I look through past WIW photos and find there's actually quite a bit of color there.  Christina, isn't that funny? It's a lot easier to wear a lightweight topper when you never have to worry about layering under OR over it. We may be opposites on the statement top thing, but I love a good printed dress, so we have that in common! LaPed, that bright Dutch orange is really hard to wear. You do well in rust, though! I still have one kimono-like-thing that's mostly been relegated to being a beach cover-up, but I found an old pic where I was wearing it with a cami and cropped jeans, and I still like that. This one is more blazer-y.  It has more fitted arms and lapels. unfrumped, thanks! I just realized that I have pretty robust pattern going on in every one of these outfits. I think I don't take photos of the more normal black ensembles because they're so hard to photograph. I usually spend a lot of time browsing and comparing sustainable retailers and planning before any purchase, but this was just from Anthro (which isn't even close to a sustainable retailer) and I neeeeeeeded it. Hopefully, I'll love it and wear it into the ground and that will be sustainable enough.
