Great jeans. I also find (as a pear shape) that skinny jeans look painted on my legs. I purchase straight leg jeans and those fit me like skinny jeans. Sneaky of the jeans don't you think? :)

I'm with others, I vote pass on the blouse and skirt. Now on to more fab things!

For myself, this year I purchased the least amount at NAS. One pair of boots, two blazers, two layering tops, and I'm still on the fence about one sweater. In previous years I purchased much more. Either my wardrobe just needed less now, I've become more selective in my purchases or the NAS selection just wasn't "for me" this year. But my wallet is happy!

Sveta! Your arms look incredible! Keep the jeans, return the other pieces and wear more sleeveless blouses!!! Do stalk for the next size in that skirt. Brilliant piece for your wardrobe!

FYI about the skirt. I used to try to make the Halogen skirts work for me and I would bring them home and wear them around the house for a few hours - and it would ALWAYS - I mean ALWAYS stretch out - so don't give up just yet!

Sveta, I agree with you about the blouse. That's an awkward length, and it would bother me. The skirt is absolutely gorgeous on you. Stalk it til you locate a 14. I wish I could justify buying it myself, but I just don't need a lot of skirts with my casual lifestyle and I already have several of the Halogen seamed pencils.

Kari, I wanted to try on 14 but it was not in the store and I don't see it online either. :(
I thought they don't come in sizes above 14 but apparently it just sold out.

VC, I wanted to be able to wear a high-waisted skirt like this with tucked in shirts and t-necks as well as with tops layered over. If an item of clothing is not versatile enough, if I need to hide some parts of it because they are not perfect - usually it does not earn a place in my closet.
The same is true for the shirt: it must earn its keep. I am at the point now when I can afford to wait for the perfect item to come along and not settle for less. PPP all the way!

Zap, l worried about lack of lining too. BTW keep leeching as much as you want: last time you did it it helped me to get those Editors :-)
Marney, I am blown away: i always thought my arms too flabby and big Maybe my twice-a-week yoga classes have results after all? :-)
Rae and Shannon, this blouse feels weird to tuck into jeans - like it is too short and wide... I tried tucking with BF jeans and was not impressed (see pic)
Maybe it is not the right style and / or length for me.
At least the jeans are winners even if they were not on sale

I really like the houndstooth blouse, the jeans AND the chevron-striped skirt. With the skirt, you are not likely to wear it with just a tank top, as pictured in photos here - am I right?

How is that skirt going to look with flat riding boots, a button down shirt, a gorgeous pullover sweater, all topped off with one of your fabulous leather jackets? I have a funny feeling that it will work out beautifully - and it's just that it's kind of hard to tell how fall/winter items will work out when it's ridiculously hot outside.

With regard to the houndstooth blouse - yes, it could be a tiny bit longer for pants and so on, but this blouse strikes me as something you'll be layering with other things, for the most part. I really like it on you, and I wouldn't send it back, personally. It's going to look great with your skirts and pants throughout winter.

Re: shoes - if they are not comfortable, then they are a no-go, no matter how great they look.

Hang in there - you've done well! Keep the jeans, the houndstooth blouse and the skirt. I think they will serve you well in the fall/winter months

I am torn re: the shirt... I don't love that it hits at the widest part of your bottom half, but it drapes so nicely. Would you wear it tucked in?

First things first: I am blown away by the beautful muscle definition in your arms and shoulders! BLOWN away!

Second - Nordstroms will take back anything - doesn't matter if there are tags or not, so no worries there.

I agree with Kari that you should wear the skirt around the house for awhile - it doesn't look all that tight to me in the first place, so I'm thinking that with just a ltitle bit of stretching, that its going to work for you.

I'm kind of on the fence about the houndstooth shirt - I love houndstooth patterns. Have you tried a semi-tuck with it? Maybe that would take care of the "iffy" length!

The Paige jeans are perfect and extremely flattering on you. Great purchase!

I got my pencil skirt today and sadly, it feels snug too. Also, the lack of lining worries me a bit. The infamous tuckus needs support. I will wear around the house to see.

Angie, 12 was the biggest size in the store for the skirt and I see it is the biggest size online too.
The shirt is size Large. I tried XL in the store but it was just a 0.5" difference in length and too big in the shoulders. Should it be longer? Should it be roomier? Maybe this is just not the right style for me?

Kari, what size did you get in the skirt? Did you have to size up? This is 12, my "regular" size for pencils - I can get away with 10 in more relaxed skirts and I also had 10 in old Halogen seamed skirt... Thanks for the advice, I will try to wear it around the house for a while...

Sveta, try wearing the skirt around the house for an hour and see if it stretches out just a little. Mine really relaxed after about 30 minutes - it was snug (not uncomfortably so) but now fits wonderfully. It does look small now, but just see if the fit adjusts enough.

But Nordstrom TOTALLY will take items back without tags.

I like the houndstooth top in terms of the way the fabric drapes to fit your curves. I'm undecided about the length, though; I'm a little extra sensitive about that particular length on myself.

So far I am happy with 2 items I got at NAS: Kut BF jeans and SE python booties. Well, booties still have to stand the test of real walk in them but so far so good.
I already decided to return Me Too pumps: the toe box is not wide enough and I suspect they will not be comfortable to walk in. Unfortunately they do not come in wide width and though I can size up it is a whole size up and they will be too big.
I also got this hound-tooth shirt (pic 1-3)and I am not sure about it. While I really like the fabric, drape and pattern I am not sure about this style. It is boxy and I feel that at this width it should be longer to get better proportions. However maybe I just need to learn how to wear it and it is the right width and length for me? The back shot has the shirt hem pulled up a bit, it is a bit longer that that.
Another item I got was Halogen patterned skirt (pic 3-4). I like but now looking at the pictures I think it is too tight and I would need a bigger size which is not available. I have already cut the tags from it and cannot find them - do you think Nordstrom takes it back without tags?
I also got Paige straight Skyline jeans - not NAS and at full price but they came in size 33 and I want less tight jeans now. They are in pic 1-3 - they are straight but fit me like skinnies! I am keeping those because I like the fit and I have no skinny jeans now.
I also thought about CE mixed media skirt and I think I will pass: I would like this skirt to be below the knee for more sophistication but it is listed as 2"shorter than this Halogen skirt and this one is just covers my knees.

So far my NAS loot was not very spectacular Well, there is always next year, right?
