Although I prefer simple pieces I have used this information for my DDs who are both A cups. My younger daughter especially likes floral, bows and frills, and these look great on her petite figure.
I personally prefer to wear jackets with a bit of structure to achieve more volume on top, as well as scarfs.

I too like the ruching around the bust, for the reasons you mentioned. I've been trying to find some ruched tops (all I have now is a ruched cami) but haven't yet found anything in my size.

Ruching is quite popular with my clients because it's forging on the midriff.

I know that some are put off by ruching down the center front of a tee, but with a small bust, I like the non-flattening properties of this style on some of my turtlenecks. It also seems to give a bit of style to what is a very basic piece.
I have a turtle neck with side ruching but like the front detail more.

I like ruching across the tummy area. I find it offers structure - unlike a t-shirt dress that just hangs there. If you know what I mean.

To me, Rouching is an easy breezy effortless & comfortable way to look more feminine. I have a small bust, and rouching above or below that area makes them look rounder. I've seen larger busted women & the rouching flatters their size as well. Rouching at the smallest part of the waist creates ladylike curves, and can hide flaws. I have a black tshirt, with a fabulous rouched neckline, and the sleeves are rouched in the cutest way, making the shoulders appear slightly padded, but they're not. The fabric is one of those new super soft blends, and it's such a pleasure to look well dressed, while feeling comfy & casual! What types of Rouching or other modern tailoring details do you ladies enjoy? Asymetrical necklines? Hi-Low?
