I am more of an 8, if I were going to categorize myself, and I am almost wider at my high hip (and that gets wider as I gain weight) than I am at my low hip/upper thighs (which always stay relatively narrow, even as I gain weight). Actually, I tend to gain all over pretty evenly. </p> <p>Like you, I have been feeling lately that most A line skirts are not as flattering on me as they were when I was heavier. I do have one that I like a lot, but it has very little flare and the flare is really in the knee area rather than above (i.e. it is slim fitting in the hip area). </p> <p>Also like you, my hip bones sit up high. In other words, we're short waisted. That is what gives us the slight 8 characteristic, and it may be the reason that some 8 recommendations are useful for us to consider. Does that make sense?
