Michelle, sounds like you scored with your loot.:)
Don't be afraid to let your blouse, tee shirt or anyother top go down below your moto jacket length. It is fine to wear a top longet than your cropped jacket, it covers the hip area you are concerned about and ends in a more flattering place for most women.:)
As far as zipped or unzipped...just decide w/each outfit what works:)

I tried on that MK blouse and the fit was strange on me too. I generally like banded tops, but this one was too short for the amount of volume. It's a shame!

I can't wait to see your pictures, especially the blue cobalt dress! Jealous!

Yay Michelle! I can't wait to see pictures of your stash!-) I am SO curious about the blue sweater dress. I'm sorry the pants and the MK blouse didn't work out (it definitely had potential, but that just means there's another fab blouse out there with your name on it).

SO glad you love the leather jacket. I actually wear mine with pretty much everything. E.g.
- dress slacks and a sweater/button-down or blouse (I especially like the look with wide-legged trousers or boot cut trousers)
- jeans and a 'T-shirt'/top in a nice material, details like a tie-neck on the top are fun extra's and make the look more feminine
- with dresses and (pencil) skirts, there's just something about the contrast of the tougher looking leather jacket against a girly dress or skirt.
- over a tunic and leggings

The possibilities are endless, really. Do post pictures soon, and we'll come up with lots more specific suggestions.

I demand pictures, Michelle! Believe it or not I've been excited about your loot and can't wait to see how things work for you. Squee!
My favorite way to wear a moto jacket is like a blazer for work. Dress slacks/trousers, blouse, and moto jacket. Gives it a fun, modern pop. I also like them over graphic tees (or sweet pea tops!) with jeans. Once you get photos I'm sure we can give you a plethora of ideas.

Yes, my Nas loot is almost all here! I'm just waiting on my blackberry trench, which is winging its way here thanks to Khris, but the rest of the stuff is in! I will post pics, but here are the initial assessments:

Absolutely 100% in love with the coul-neck cobalt dress
Quite keen on the Sweet Pea top, but will want people's verdict as to whether it looks good on me
Will return the Jag grey herringbone pants (the rise is a bit low and it does unattractive things to my stomach)
Will return the black and cream Michael Kors blouse. You could fit my whole torso in one of those sleeves and I'll find that much volume beyond irritating, plus I'm just not comfortable with banded tops which are that short. Still struggling with banded tops in general, truthfully.

Aaaand the Caslon distressed leather moto jacket that everyone loved: I think I do too! It's much simpler in style than I was expecting, which I quite like. The only hardware is the zippers on the pockets and cuffs and front, and the pocket zippers practically disappear when done up. Lines are nice and clean, and I like the stitching a lot.

Here's the thing, I'm just not sure how to wear this style. Due to my much-hated hips, I'm not used to wearing cropped jacket styles. Will that just emphasize my pearish tendencies? And how exactly do I wear the jacket, as outerwear? As a more casual blazer alternative? Do they usually look best undone or partially zipped?

Eagerly awaiting your feedback!
