The rest read too classic or too boho for you to me. Not sure if that makes them less viable for work. Other option would be to add a little 70s kick with just these pants. Or go more classic and style the top half similarly to your other work outfits (since you tend to have the bottoms be more fun there). A few other ideas: a long tunic, cropped sweater over longer soft layer, high-low or handkerchief hems could be a good modern counterpart. They are often styled with cropped fitted tops or with long semi fitted tunics with side slits. But these are tailored pants not jeans. I'm not sure. This is a style I've never really been able to figure out for me - maybe bc I don't tuck and then I feel like a tree trunk because I'm as wide as my hips all the way down. Somehow I find wide culottes much easier, maybe because the exposed ankles add structure (and slimness) so I don't feel like I need to expose the waistband so much. And a softer fabric than denim works better for me too.
