Thanks Deb! Cross posted.... I have several kind of boho-ish top that would work and comfortable.... yes than is the main goal here (but I have learned the power of the perfect footwear to elevate an outfit here at YLF and my, some days I wish I could UNLEARN that )

Thanks Suz :)

Unfrumped -- my skinnies all have godd bit of scrunch so I think I might be in trouble keeping them put in that low ankle.

IK -- Almost all my socks a dark patterned or striped sock so I am fine for them to show. But "boot - sock - pant" well that might be too much on my shortish legs...

I used to wear those in the 70's with my bell bottoms. They are so comfortable. What about rolling the skinnies so they hit above the bootie? You could also add a loose top to give a bohemian vibe then keep your hair close to your head for to add more structure.

I think it can be hard to keep something tucked into a very low boot. It depends on the "skinnies"--if they're very snug almost like a legging, then they stay put no matter what.

Hmm. I am not sure. I have a poison eye for this type of shoe. So I am a poor person to comment. But this will bump!

Ha! I just re-read and realized I never really figured out what I was trying to ask... but OldMsThrifty hit on some of the things I was trying to get at...

Tucked in... poof factor b/c of the smaller ankle measurement? thoughts? experiences?

Rolling... yes, good idea!

Dated factor... b/c moccasins were more it a few years ago... but my feet are never ever going to be happy in pointy toes so that is what it is. I would like to be on trend but 20 years of foot issues I must respect the messages my toe-sies give me.

These arent as polished as I'd like for my style... but can the black be styled to not stand badly out while meeting the foot friendly needs. Food for thought.

Guess it boils down to do you want to be perfectly "on trend' then you would have to get pointy toe booties, or the cons the on trend people on here wear or be yourself and wear what suits you and is comfy, and good for your feet.
IMO I would wear them like any other ankle booties. I get most of my how to's from pinterest..and by experimenting with looks for myself, here is what I find..Not all straight legs are the same measurement around the bottom,,not all hit your leg or ankle at the same spot,,so just play around with slouch (how much slouch do you like) or rolling up-like do you want to just skim the top of the boot or show some leg, wear a sock or whatever, and as for skinnies, how tight on your leg are yours..If they are more tight like leggings then they get tucked inside (I don't wear this look, as I do not feel I am thin enough, but it looks good on some ) As for these booties, I like both, and think they look much more versatile than most sneekers. I have a pair of the regular Mini Tanka mocassins that are the only loafer type shoe I own, and wear them a lot.

Shoes and my feet are NOT getting along right now so I was thinking about some moccasin booties, like being barefoot but more socially acceptable!

I kind of like this just above ankle height bootie #1 and think you could go under bootcuts or straight but could you tuck skinnies? I would get in black but put the brown pic b/c well... you cant see anything in black.

I dont like #2 as well but if styling would be easier I'd consider.

Still not totally sure how these work with my style, but they are cheap and my feet have to be happy or .... I am a grouch! (And since my feet have been miserable I have been taking off my shoes and going barefoot at outdoor places (park, etc) lately and dont think I want to be known as *that mom* the who doesnt wear shoes!)
