This doesn't hold true for skinnies! I think leather skinnies with leather (even knee high boots) shoes work nicely... precisely because the gap in btw the pieces either doesn't exist or is a mere hint of skin (as in your outfit). </p> <p>I hv a pair myself and the outfit I pulled off with last season was knee high leather boots (in black, as the skinnies themselves), a cotton long sleeved, hem hitting a bit over the hipbone, fitted tee, and on top of it, a shorter (cropped) sweater (in the same colour as the tee - white). These make my leather leggings a bit more casual which suits my lifestyle and they are so comfortable that I wore mine this weekend for 7 hours straight while attending a trade show. I wear them this way at least once a week For evening I wear leggings with ankle boots to dress them up.
