In summer, white is fantastic with grey. Light blue can be really fresh with it. Almost any bright will also work well. Cognac or animal print can be a fun option for accessories.

In winter, burgundy, rust, black, navy, cognac or tan...the options are endless, depending on your own colouring and preferences. It's a great blank canvas and looks easy for travel.

Angie has a couple of ensemble suggestions.

Do you have a narrow waist, Dressy? A wide, corset-style leather belt (they seem to be trending now) would look amazing on this simple dress, I think. I'd go for a statement belt, and keep everything else fairly low key.

What a cute dress! It looks comfortable, too. Ballet flats (perhaps two-coloured, in Chanel style) would be a great match and be suitable for many ocassions all year round. So would a cardigan and a printed scarf. As for colours, I think blush or light pink would look great with the grey dress as well as with your own pale/fair colours. And a little rouge and lipstick (or coloured lip gloss) will probably help, too.

Other solutions:

In summer, silver Birkenstocks (or a similar style) would be fine. For cooler seasons, a smart silver sneaker would look fab.

Grey or black hosiery (15-40 deniers, depending on your preferences and your climate) will be perfect and look less heavy than leggings. In summer, you may be able to go bare-legged, of course.

Some of us have mentioned silver shoes and accessories. However, shoes and other accessories in rose gold would also be a great choice and look fab worn with blush and many other colours.

More inspiration if you like colour - driving shoes, loafers, smoking slippers, boat shoes and the like are all flat footwear that are trendy right now too (& more supportive than the standard Ballet flat)!

As for jewellery, because you dress has a V neck, I recommend either wearing earrings or a necklace that won't compete with the neckline. Notice how this first necklace dips down in a subtle V shape, to mimic the neckline? That's what I'm talking about - a rounded necklace might distract from the neckline, & a choker may take away from the expanse of skin that it would otherwise leave exposed.

The second necklace I would recommend wearing as a short pendant - so it doesn't dip any lower than the lowest point of the neckline - so that it also fills the space without competing with it.

Since the sleeves are elbow length, you can get away with pretty much any hand jewellery. I personally prefer thicker bracelets if there's more skin showing) from the sleeves), but it's you're choice! Ring would look lovely too!

As for shoes? That's totally up to you! The chunky look, with rubber lug soles, is in. But so are elegantly pointed almond toe shoes! I've attached a few different options here but, since you're lighter, you may feel that metallics will help bring your look together without looking too heavy on you.

I don't know how old or young you are, but I imagine you could pull your dress off in all sorts of weather & seasons by pairing it with different accessories. The tights & boots could work in autumn with a knit infinity scarf, whereas the white Denim jacket & grey scarf would look great with the metallic sneakers or grey/ black mixed flats at a casual office or spring weekend.

I hope my colour suggestions of burgundy, cream & gold with grey also inspire you!

You mentioned you're pale, but what about your hair & eye colour? Here's how I would dress it up if you're generally looking for cooler tones (ie blonde haired an blue eyed).

(You don't have to wear all these items together, by the way, they're just individual suggestions that create a similar colour story).

What a great dress! I'd wear it with flat form slide sandals, oxfords, low heel wedges. Capri leggings in an olive-y green, for one... maybe a peach or pinkish colour...

If black tights or leggings are too dark, how about grey or navy? You could use a scarf or bag to tie the colors together. This dress looks like it would look good with silver metallic sneakers or loafers.

In spring/summer it would be cute with stylish sneakers, sandals, espadrilles. In colder weather I'd try flat boots, a warm scarf and topper. And bag. Many opportunities to add color, texture, pattern, etc.

Hi!
I'm very much a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and I'm looking for some advice on dresses. I found a cheap dress online that's simple and seems very flattering on me but I can't decide whether to keep it or not as I don't know what to wear with it. I don't wear heels.
http://www2.hm.com/nl_nl/produ.....#Zwart/wit dessin
How could I wear this in different seasons? All I can think of is black leggings but think it might be too dark all together with this dress.
What are your thoughts? Or does anyone have a suggestion for a nice versatile dress that's not black? (I'm very pale and it doesn't suit me very much, subdued colours seem to work best for me) Thank you!
