As someone who wears a lot of earth tones, sometimes brown can be tricky. I can wear them with jeans, no problem. I find it harder with skirts and dresses because of the hosiery issue. It is hard to find brown tights or hose that match different browns and sometimes a mis- match can look terrible with brown. It is much easier to get a match with black. I think you can wear black hose but it does not look as well with very dark brown. Cognac acts as a separate color from black and can be worn with black hose. I hope I am making sense.</p> <p>It can be done, often I will wear a sheer taupe hose with brown boots if I am wearing a skirt.</p> <p>I love brown boots and do think they can be worn with all black. It is just a bit harder to do. Brown is also very nice with grey.
