The first thing I would check is if the show is seated or general admission. Almost all rock shows that I've been to are GA with jazz clubs being more likely to have seats. And some kind of long, dangly necklace. I'm not good with necklaces, but maybe something with three strands (multistrand necklace) that is a little on the chunkier side might work. I prefer a small cross body to a clutch for clubs--easier to wear or hang since in front of you on the table takes up room and floor/lap is awkward.
