I will not spend more than $20 on a knit top. Most of the time I won't even spend more than $15. But I will spend well over $100 for comfy shoes. </p> <p>Normally I would not spend more than $40 on a dress, but since I am really starting from the ground up and I want the dresses I buy to last at least two summers, I am being more relaxed than usual. Today I consigned 23 items. I am guessing I will make at the VERY least $150 from those items (I get 50% of the sale price and all the items were really nice). There are usually food coupons and % off when you spend a certain amount at a lot of the stores. If you are a AAA (American Automobile Association) member, you can often times get a coupon book at most malls and outlets. </p> <p>Also AAA members get discounts at restaurants and public venues but they hardly advertised it. You just have to ask before you order or by your ticket if they give AAA discounts. Many stores offer price adjustments if the item goes on sale within a week or two of you buying it - you just need to take in your receipt and sometimes the item you bought, and they'll refund the difference. I got almost $20 back last week because the shoes I bought the week before went on clearance!</p> <p>Ebates helps with my online shopping too. It's fun to get that little check in the mail every once in a while. I also think that thinking in terms of your wardrobe as a whole when you shop tends to stretch your dollars.
