Oh my goodness - I had no idea you could return Nordstrom items to the Rack. This is great news! There is a Nordstom Rack in my town, but Nordstrom's is a bit of a hike.

Traci, you can also return items from Nordstrom store at the Rack. The only limit is that the individual item must be $500 or less.
And as aptlee mentioned, you get your money back in a few business days rather than waiting a few weeks as with mail returns.
Joy, I did not know that Hautelook could also be returned at the Rack.
Nordies has the very best customer service, they really spoil us like we deserve

An advantage to returning in person is the instant credit back to the credit card. I've noticed that the convenient pre-paid return label is not nearly as speedy.

Yes, Traci. I do it all the time because the Rack is closer than Nordstroms.
You can also return items ordered online from Hautelook there. Very quick and easy.

Hold the phones! You can do Nordstrom online returns at the brick and mortar Nordstrom Rack? My life may have just changed.

I bring the packing slip to the store and the item in the plastic bag it was shipped in. But if you don't have any of this, you can just have the associate scan the credit card you used and they can look it up in the store.

Also, if you purchased items online, you don't need to find your packing slip to return items. Go to Nordstrom.com, Your Account, Order History. This will display a list of all your online orders. If you select the relevant order number, it will display a list (with photo) of all the items in your order. For each item there is a "return" box to check on the left, and a drop down menu to the right for the reason code. Once you've selected all the items you want to return, click the "return selected items" button at the very bottom and it will generate a return form and a mailing label to print.

I like what Firecracker said about the returns, I think that will work nicely for you.
Make sure to keep an accurate count of the items you are returning so that things don't get overlooked and you don't risk losing your money. I also like to have them count the number of items in the system before they finalize the transaction. Then I check my receipt for accuracy before I leave the store.
I do most of my returns at the Rack because it is nearby and I can do all the returns at the same register. When I go to Nordstroms I have to go to different departments and that takes more time.
It is easier for me at the Rack.

It'd be a relief not to have to track down all the packing slips (multiple boxes, you know), so if they can just look the order up for me...whew, how much easier that would be. :)Your reply

What Joy said, for returning online purchases to the brick & mortar store. It's easy. The sales associate who does your bra fitting can do your returns, too. You don't have to go to different departments.

Robin, if you bought in store, all they need to do is return and they'll scan the stickers they put on at sale. If you bought online, either take the packing slip or they can look up your purchase with your card number. Any register including concierge can do the transaction...assuming you want to take them in.

Hmmm. All the return labels I get are USPS. I wonder if the UPS vs USPS is regional?

If you're returning by mail, some labels are USPS labels. Double check before you drop the box off!

Returns are very easy. Keep the box . Remove ALL previous labels. Find your receipt. The receipt should have three parts. One part you keep for your records. One part goes in the box and the last part is the shipping label. You can explain why you are returning on the back side of the piece that goes I the box. Tape it up. Drive it to a UPS drop off store. Find the nearest store using the Internet. Post if you have additional questions.

You can also return directly to the store. Easiest if you have a store nearby.

You can take your items and any paperwork sent with them to any sales assistant and they can return them or find someone who can. I use my Nordstrom card for all purchases,so if a receipt or paperwork sent is lost, they can find the sale with the card. The money is refunded to the card you used.

So, uh, I know all the information about returns and exchanges is on Nordstrum's site, and I have read all the info at least twice.

But it'd help to hear from someone who's done it: What must one do if one is returning items to a store that one bought online?

Since Angie has assigned me the task of getting a bra fitting, I figure I might as well just wait and do my returns in person.

Any tips?Your post
