Lots of wisdom here. I tend to do what El Cee said because I can't pull off too much jewellry, but bone structure and a big personality are game changers. Go with what feels right for you and the occasion.

The necklace El Cee showed has drama low enough that a dangly earring might work for some women. I'm short, have a short neck, wear glasses, and have salt'n'pepper hair so dangly only works for me with a simple collarless neckline. Bone structure and inherent drama/personality plays into this as well. I think Ledonna and I are close in height, but with her vibrant exuberance she is able to carry off a lot of looks that would overwhelm me.

I say bump the rules and go.for what you like. Sometimes my statement earrings or necklaces are so big I don't wear any other piece but, them. Or just cuffs. I think it just depends on personal preferences.

In this season of maximalism, I am pairing more statement pieces together... bold necklace with a couple bold rings, etc.

I agree with Always trying if you wear big earrings then delicate chain necklace or none and with statement necklace no earrings. This is general but you can sometimes break the rules.

What El Cee said. With a statement necklace either no ear rings or small ones. With big earrings I wear delicate chain necklaces or one strand pearls or beads or none depending on the neckline of the top I am wearing.

I own one of the Rayne necklaces (and love it) -- as well as a couple of other similar pieces. I tend to keep my earrings simple when I wear necklaces that are more of a statement piece... small studs, demi hoops or very plain full hoops. I want the necklace to be the focus.

Hi All!
I'm so excited to find this forum!

How do you pair a long colored drop necklace like the Kendra Scott "Rayne" with earrings? I love the matching larger dangle "Alex" earrings but I really don't know fashion and wonder if that necklace with those earrings are TOO MUCH together or if they're far enough away that it works? Or if the more plain but still large "Sophee" drop earrings go with the necklace; or that necklace just needs small studs for earrings. Please help this total Newbie!
