Welcome, Melanie! Every born apple and menopause-induced apple on YLF has dealt with this, so you'll get lots of good advice here.

I know that Angie often recommends faux wrap or surplice tops such as the one below for the apple shape.

i think the biggest win is to get the proportions right...IMO is not about baggy and oversized its about shape, lenght and how the pieces work together. So i'd look for tee that aren't straight, but that more A lined or come away from the body as they get longer but are fitted in the shoulders, and then make sure that they don't hit you at your widest spot....i like a column of color with an fashion foward shoe as it takes the eye away from what i'm least happy with....

Hi Melanie, as Sal said, Angie gives lots of tips in this blog post:

https://youlookfab.com/2014/02.....type-2014/

Also, don't hesitate to ask if you have questions about a specific outfit and/or post pictures if you feel comfortable with that.

It sounds like you are an Apple shape.

There are ways to distract from your belly if you went to- Angie wrote a post on it a few years back - will be in the archives.

Jackets or blazers can be great - left open they can be very flattering. I also think low contrast with top and bottom- or dresses are really good - especially ones with diagonal lines.

I am sure others will have good advice too.

Hello newbie here!! So here's my question: what body type is only a belly? All my weight goes right to the belly. Seriously like a man's beerbelly. Thin legs and arms. In 5' even I've gain a considerable amount of weight in the last year. That I am trying to get rid of. But it all makes me look pregnant. I'm stuck with leggings and baggy t-shirts or cardigans. And this isn't as easy as it was 20 or so years ago.
